Injury or not, the correct play there is to recognize Bale has a speed advantage and acres of space behind you, and to take him down with a "professional foul." You get the yellow, but it's worth preventing the 1 v. 1.

Bartra is young and tried to make the heroic play. He'll learn.

True, Pique has been in that kind of situation many times but he certainly prefers yellow or a red. His tackle against Neymar in Conf final for example, although Spain was down by 2 goals at the time but it prevented Brazil to scores another. In this case, the game was still a tie.

But then again, you can say the same about Alves when he was one on one against Di Maria. I mean look at how he actually got plenty of times to at least try to tackled him but he ended up just following him.

I think he tried to knock him off the pitch but lacked the strength to do it. Puyol would have sent him into the advertising boards despite how strong Bale is.

May a higher power save us if we really try to purchase and integrate 5 new starters next season. For the quality we'd be looking for that's easily 160M in costs and how do you get that many players on the same page in one summer? Eek; same "chosen/untouchable 6" as in the last "infographic" I reposted here:

well I think the fact Ferguson let him go and retained Jonny Evans speaks volumes of how he rated Pique at the time

I mean yeah Pique has a winners medal for Man Utd but I dont think he was even on the bench in the final (could be wrong about that)

either way Pique should be retained due to his age and his barca background

SAF has since admitted that he made a big mistake letting pique go.

I guess he had to make a call at the time and sometimes you just never know how young players will pan out

some interesting rumors going around now that the ban has officially been lifted
(can we open a transfer thread soon? it's gonna be a busy one this year)

    Barca closing in on Hummels
Barca signing Mats Ter-Stegen as 1st GK
Barca lining up Willy Caballero as 2nd GK
    Alexis maybe going to Juventus
    Man United interested in Cesc
    Barca tempted by Ozil
    Cavani maybe leaving PSG
    PSG interested in Dani Alves
Deulofeu to extend his loan at Everton

(these are all from the ever so reliable Goal.com, but interesting talking points nevertheless)

    Joan Laporta:
"It’s shocking the Messi situation still hasn’t been resolved. If it were down to me, Leo would be a cule forever.”

"[Neymar] is the victim of bad management by the current board."

When pressed on the possibility of running for re-election, Laporta added: "At the end of the season I’ll voice my intention regarding Barca."

We have some good titles already, no?

Something like: "Shop Like There's No Tomorrow: The Transfer Thread" ?

    Trolls gotta troll.

He'll run. Anytime a potential candidate says "I'm exploring the possibilities of running for..." they end up running.

Please don't report this kind of news without sources. One thing is transfer rumors, another is a man's life. Just out of decency.:unsure:

Mundo Deportivo reporting Tito is in stable condition today after undergoing emergency surgery. He and his family insist that his health is a private matter, so there won't likely be much official news.

    Good news:

LFP Clear Barcelona of misconduct in Neymar signing

"In view of the appeal made to the LFP by FC Barcelona, there is no evidence of any irregular conduct committed by the Club which would have infringed the rules and regulations of the LFP. As a result of this, no further action in this matter will be taken ... The Economic Control Committee of the LFP ordered FC Barcelona to provide a series of documents in February and having analysed them in full has reached the decision that there were no irregularities whatsoever by the Club in the signing of Neymar Jr."
