2006 WC had one amazing game, Germany vs Italy, but the rest of the games were meh. '94 and '98 have been by far superior tournaments than anything else after. Still though, 2006 > 2002, 2010
lol stupid Futbol Picante asking the CCL final to be one game like in UEFA. I bet they want the game to be in a neutral site like the carribean. I would like to see them ask the same thing in the Libertadores final! A ver si es cierto cabrones!!
Transferring tapes to DVD I was thinking to myself why the f'k am I transferring Italia 90' games they are rubbish. Great Games list (1986 - 2010) The ones in Bold are really special 1986 Argentina v West Germany (Final) Argentina v England (Quarters) France v Brazil (Quarters) Belgium v Soviet Union (2nd Round) 1990 None 1994 Brazil v Netherlands (Quarters) Sweden v Romania (Quarters) Italy v Spain (Quarters) Bulgaria v Germany (Quarters) Romania v Argentina (2nd Round) Italy v Nigeria (2nd Round) Argentina v Nigeria (Group Stage) 1998 Brazil v Netherlands (Semis) Brazil v Denmark (Quarters) Netherlands v Argentina (Quarters) Argentina v England (2nd Round) Netherlands v Yugoslavia (2nd Round) Germany v Mexico (2nd Round) Germany v Yugoslavia (Group Stage) Mexico v Netherlands (Group Stage) Mexico v Belgium (Group Stage) Nigeria v Spain (Group Stage) Italy v Chile (Group Stage) 2002 Brazil v England (Quarters) South Korea v Italy (2nd Round) Senegal v Uruguay (Group Stage) Brazil v Costa Rica (Group Stage) Mexico v Italy (Group Stage) 2006 Italy v Germany (Semis) Argentina v Mexico (2nd Round) Argentina v Cote d'Ivoire (Group Stage) Australia v Croatia (Group Stage) 2010 Germany v Uruguay (3rd Place) Slovakia v Italy (Group Stage) I could go back and watch all these games. Sure there are other games with great moments. Like Paraguay against France in 98 or Spain in 2010. But those games were good because plucky Paraguay were hanging on not because the game was great or anything. Uruguay v Ghana in 2010 was crap until it got to the last 20 minutes. Then there are memorable ass kickings like Denmark trashing Uruguay then getting trashed by Spain in 86. Or Germany trashing England and Argentina in 2010. Memorable but not great games
Sorry man but any list that doesn't include France vs Paraguay in the knockout stage is suspect...Chilavert standing on his head single handedly keeping Paraguay in the game willing them to have a chance goes down as a personal favorite for me.
I too was of that opinion until I rewatched it again while transferring it over to DVD (that sh*t took ages). It was like watching a movie you thought was great the first time you watched it and watching again 15 years later and thinking to yourself, this hasn't aged well. I've watched so much futbol over the years since then that a team parking the bus (no matter how much of an underdog that team is) is not something I like Re-watching. I dont hate teams that do that, you do what you have to do to win. I just would rather re-watch Denmark (and the Laudrup brothers) knowing they have a slim chance of beating Brazil in France 98 go guns a blazing at the verdeamerela.
