Or who whine as much as they do.

I recall watching the "Football Rivalries" segment on Arsenal/Spuds and whoever they put up to be the Spuds fan rep whined incessantly about The Arsenal.

Is that the one where the guy said Arsenal went with white sleeves to be more like spurs?

According to Telegraph, in addition to Callun Chambers aT RB, Wenger’s focus this summer is central midfield and at least one, and possibly two, additional strikers. A renewed bid for Lars Bender, the Bayer Leverkusen holding midfielder, can be expected after a £20  million offer was rejected last summer. Hamburg midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is another player who Arsenal are now monitoring, with Álvaro Morata, Josep Drmic, Mario Mandzukic, Julian Draxler and Karim Benzema.

Would be delighted with these 4 : Chambers, Bender, Draxler and Benzema. (Morata and Aurier for Benzema and Chambers ae fine with me as well). We will still need a CB and a back up keeper as well.

Calhanoglu is playing a great season so far, arguably one of the best talents in the Bundesliga. I don't think HSV will and can ask big money for him if they relegate.

For 10-15m euros I sure as hell would sign him.

Not sure if I ever heard him say that, because if I did I'd ROTFLMAO.

Do we need another attacking mid? 10 goals at age 20 in the Bundesliga is certainly an impressive return though.

My youtube reseach on Calhanoglu reveals inconclusive results.

This. Basically, we need a serious legit upgrade in three positions: center forward, wing forward, and DM. and we need to solidify the roster in the other positions depending on who leaves and what depth/prospect options are available, etc.

We need an upgrade over Giroud, and Mandzukic is it. I'm suspicious of the possibilities 'better' than him. Finding a price and fit is going to be very difficult, and we should realize that we're not one player away from anything anyway. We're about 3-4 players away. I'm afraid that getting fixated on Cavani (or especially Benzema) will make us forget that.

He's a professional footballer. He should be making the types of runs to actually get on the end of chances.

I'm actually thinking that with all the turmoil at United we can get Fellaini for a song. One thing that's flown under the radar is that Michael Carrick isn't necessarily the world's greatest footballer but he is probably the best fit for the position that he plays of anybody on United's roster. Fellaini can't add any value there for United so is basically a fish out of water.

Whereas for us we know Arteta is out of legs and we need an upgrade there.

Is there a reason that our scouting neglected Eastern Europe for so long? It seems like that was the place to go for good players on the cheap. Our only players from the region were Rosicky and Eduardo (who had spent a long time in Germany and was Brazilian). We really would have benefited from any player like Ivanovic, Matic, Vidic, Korolov, Dzeko, Modric, or the like. Is it still hangover from Stepanovs?

That is the least urgent of our needs, if it is even one. If we have to take an attacking MF, might as well get Cesc! ;)
This is an area of the field where we are loaded. CF, DMF, Strikers.... these are our needs.

He usually plays on the left for Hamburg. He would instantly become one of the best free kick takers on the team, and also looks like he could be Ozil's younger brother.

He is also a more direct version of Cazorla, but he is surplus because I think that the Ox should and will be played in that position next season. Joel Campbell will be in the first team as well and should also see time on the left wing.

So Wilshere is absolutely stuck in becoming our holding CM then I guess? If Wenger goes out and buys another attacking mid then obviously he's comfortable with our defensive/holding mids - and with Arteta and Flamini almost done I guess that torch is Wilshere and Ramseys?

Welcome aboard. I am not convinced that Campbell will be in the first team next year. He may be surplus to requirement. I wont be surprised if he is sold to the likes of Newcastle or WBA.
