qualifying is a bit different for the npsl and pdl clubs Tulsa qualified by winning their division last year and since npsl and pdl pretty much qualify during the season preceding the tournament which OKC FC was in the pdl last year they would've had to met the qualifying criteria for the pdl to have been in this year if I'm not mistaken maybe someone who knows more than me can give more insight on this though
Ah, okay, makes sense. I noticed the NPSL website states that there are 80 teams in the league, but there are definitely not 80 teams in the USOC from there.
1,200 is not a good crowd, but this pic was nearly a full half-hour before the game started - I'm not in my seat yet. A pic from inside the Chesapeake Arena at the same relative time would also have a shocking look.
I was sent this same picture and thought the same thing, when was it taken? I was told that this was intermission between 1st and 2nd period..don't know if that is true, but that is what I was told.
- I was in my seat the entire intermission, as were some friends of mine in that section. Neither of us are in the picture - The graphic on the video board is one used before games only - The only time the ice girls skate during intermission is while the Zamboni is out. - There is always heavy concourse traffic during the intermissions - there is none here. - Ushers are not present - The Press sections are almost completely empty, including of League staffers. - Yes, I know I now owe snopes a royalty check.
So you're saying that losing the ability to play at OCU had nothing to do with the Energy or any part of their ownership?
http://www.nationalpremiersoccerleague.com/schedules/2014/64214778.html just look where it says south central conference and click on those letters that spell "Oklahoma City FC" Still no home venue listed, though.
Now the 1st of May, kick-off is about 10 days away for the NPSL team. What does the Facebook page talk about? NASL attendance. Anyone in the know know if they've locked down a place to play yet?
From the looks of this year's OKC FC roster, I'm guessing Chickasha? And they're supposed to be playing tomorrow and Saturday in a preseason tournament here in Tulsa.
And not a PEEP about that tournament anywhere. Facebook and Twitter only care about posting NASL attendance numbers and scarf contests. You would think if they were playing their first game of 2014, they would at least MENTION it. lol
According to their Facebook they are going to be playing at Casady, hopefully there will be as much negativity about this team playing there as there was the Energy playing at Bishop... Probably not though.
Lol, and they thought the "nRg lulz" was alienating the Spanish speaking community by playing at BM. I'm sure the Village is a MUCH better option to reach those fans.
The Village isn't quite the lilly-white (blacks were prohibited from purchasing homes there as a part of the city code) middle class surrounded suburb/servants quarters to Nichols Hills that it once was. Time along with Fair-Housing laws, busing, low taxes and tax base and the ring-rot of OKC has turned it into just another lower middle class neighborhood.
What cross town? They're on opposite sides of Nichols Hills, playing at private religious prep-schools
Also heard that the NASL brass were in town Wed and Thurs to scout venues for next year. Hopefully an announcement next week.
