FYP I had a law professor who would throw out some statement with double entendre and then say, "Get your mind out of the gutter...so mine can float by." It was funny the first time he said it, not so funny the 4th or 5th time.
I bought one. I'm a fool with my money. But what I'd really like is one of those white polos the coaches are wearing.
I bought one the new anthem jackets. I like it. To the noob saying they didn't see them on anybody but staffers, it's cuz they are expensive. I'm way more prone to wear a black jacket pretty much everywhere than a bright red Adidas track jacket, I know this because I have bright red Fire gear too. I bought mine at the luncheon and Mike Ernst and Dan Lobring happened to walk up during the transaction and I told them 100% truthfully, hey look guys I'm spending my jersey money for the year. Since then I have had several conversations about the Fire, the world cup, soccer, and Section 8 based on people noticing the Fire badge and complimenting the jacket. That IS cool. I hate to challenge the obsessive narrative here, but they're not a Hauptman / Fire thing, they are an Adidas thing, all the teams have close variations of the same thing, most in black, as a matter of fact, NYRB has the same exact jacket (the only difference is ours looks nice because the badge is awesome and their jackets were free to their season ticket holders, so maybe there is something to stoke some antiHauptman derangement after all)
For the record I abhor most Adidas gear. I've never liked the three stripes design on the shoulders and arms of every jersey they make. It's not all anti-Hauptman at least for me.
Never miss a chance to post some Tom Lehrer... A rare Red Stars misstep. What the hell is this supposed to be?
Agreed. Can't say they wouldn't be even cooler with a red & white shoulder design like this. (and replace the green stripe with a navy one, perhaps)
I'd like to float the idea that we are cursed by the ghost of our real uniforms. We have yet to win since we adopted these abominations.
I don't know, blue kinda suits my mood lately. If we continue down this path, I may even get to the point where I paint my red door black.
There's nothing wrong with that tuxedo jersey. I'd buy that in a second, for when I really want to class it up at social events.
