I think that is how I would play it, with FJ playing LB and Bedoya or Donovan playing LM. FJ would be a threat going forward from the back, and might be able to pin Ghana back a bit on that flank.
I cannot understand what the Bease brings to the squad. Does he have a goal or assist for the USMNT since 2010, the last five years? You'd be hawking snake oil to convince me he brings a defensive presence, ball handling, possession? So what? We already have this model, in a younger version in Castillo, no?
Not calling either crap but in Lige MX, both have an equal rating/rankings. In USMNT matches over the past few years, there is no discernible difference in their game.
Assuming for the sake of argument that Castillo and Beasley are otherwise similar players, Beasley strikes me as a much wiser and more tactically dependable player than Castillo. I would be much less concerned about Beasley going forward at the wrong time and leaving acres of space behind him down our left side than Castillo. For that reason, I'd give him the nod in Brazil over Castillo. Though I rate Castillo higher as a player generally than many around here seem to.
Im not particularly comfortable with him at LB in general but he gets a month long training camp and 3 friendlies to acclimate to LB. Im not too worried about his freshness at the position
Another update.... and some more positive news. Confirmed out of the world cup: Holden - Knee Gatt - Knee Cherundolo - Knee & retired New injuries/unknown status: Injured/unknown status: Hamid - ? Possibly able to regain fitness: Beasley - Hamstring Strain, possibly back this weekend Orozco - Hamstring out 2 weeks now Davis - Ankle Strain, out 3 consecutive games - listed him as doubtful and did not make the game day roster Chandler - Knee, started training, I think just light training with the ball Lichaj - Double hernia operation in mid march, club is hopeful he will be back in early May. Green - Shoulder, 1 or 2 more weeks of rest required? Back From Injury: Evans - subbed in against Chivas Onyewu - Calf, played a full 90 on April 18 Bradley - Missed 1 game, Played on the 19th Brooks - Tattoo (did he really miss a game for this?)
Your injury reports are great. As far as the possibles, I think Green gets back to fitness, and Beasley might get back in time. I have serious concerns with all the rest. A question--Did Brooks actually get injured by getting a tattoo, or was it more of his tattoo's inflammation caused him to miss practice, so therefore his boss decided to not dress him for the next match?
The latter. It just took a few days for the swelling to go down. He is back full go now. Good injury report. I would say we can take off Bradley, Onyewu, and Brooks in the next update.
It depends on how severe the strains are. Orozco is only out 2 weeks, same with Davis. We have no update as to what kind of training they are doing, and how close they are to getting into a match. Chandler has been out a while same with Lichaj, I agree it will be tough for these guys to get back.

It's kind of this tingling, vibrating sensation and it hurts. But yeah, I'm not a big fan either. To each their own though!
Back in the day, when I briefly considered being a tough guy, I decided to get "Death Before Dishonor" tattooed on my neck. I reluctantly gave up the idea, after looking high and low but failing to find that expression in a wash-off tattoo, settling instead for a bicep tattoo of the word 'soft,' which I've regretted ever since.
