Also, Colorado Rovers open up at home in the opening round May 7th against Red Force who are from Florida
OK, so I know this is not about the Colorado Rapids but I hope you don't mind the post as US Open Cup games in Colorado don't happen that often! Local amateur side Colorado Rovers are in the US Open Cup again this year & have been drawn at home to Miami's Red Force FC. The game will be at the Shea Stadium, Highlands Ranch at 8pm on Wed May 7th & entry is $6. An RTD light rail / bus connection to the stadium is available from downtown (meet at the British Bulldog at 6pm) & you can also tailgate in the south parking lot. The Rovers have punched way above their weight to qualify for the cup for the second year running. They deserve your support so please come down if you can make it. According to this thread, Rovers up 1-0 in the 70'. Just kidding, Red Force tied it up from the spot. 1-1 67'.
So the page linked above had the right score, but not the scorers. Did that Colin Clark really score for the Rovers? 2014 @USOpenCup Rd 1: Red Force 0:1 @ColoradoRovers - 49th min. (Colin Clark goal in 30th min. is difference) #USOC2014— TheCup.us (@usopencup) May 8, 2014
Quickly dispatching an MLS squad on the home grounds is a boon for whatever jojhnnycomelately in the lower divisions, it really about growing the sport.
The Orlando-Tampa 3rd round winner will play here sometime in the June 10-18 window. http://www.ussoccer.com/stories/2014/05/16/13/29/140516-usoc-fourth-round-pairings
I see the USSF still hasn't mastered the Herculean task of broadcasting the actual "draw" to the public. Edit: ...or designing a website for people that do things on computers besides dicking around on an iPad like a toddler. I guess it is nice we're getting a match within the decade.
I suppose Orlando City will be favored against Tampa, but wouldn't that be something to see Pickens back here for the 4th Round?
You know what? I'm gonna get tickets... There, reward our luck, lord knows it'll be a long ass time B4 this happens again.
