Cup game today. And if you loose ONE game, you are out. A cliché here goes "cup er cup"; translates to - "cup is cup". We will go against Orkla - (their home team advantage). A team coached by Rosenborg's previous and long lasting legend, Mr. Nils Arne Eggen (Norway's equivalent of Sir Alex) Online, this morning, I found these famous quotes by him - so enjoy: Livet er som en drøm noen ganger. Spesielt når jeg titter ned og oppdager at jeg har glemt å ta på buksene. (Life is like a dream sometimes. Especially when I look down and notice that I forgot to put on my trousers) Det blir som om Hitler i 1945 skulle ha strukket hendene i været og ropt: Her ser dere seierherren! (It would be as if Hitler in 1945 would have gone hands up and shouted: Here you see the victor!) Det er ikke lurt å gå ut defensivt mot oss på Lerkendal, vet du. Det er som å sende Salman Rushdie på sykkeltur i Teheran. (It is not wise to go out defensively against us at Lerkedal (home stadium), you know. It will be like sending Salman Rushdie on a bicycle through Tehran) Det ska dæm ha, Real Madrid, dæm prøvd! (I'll give Real Madrid this much; they tried) Hold kjeften på deg, Mini. Jeg har vært her siden 1960! (Shut up you, Mini. I've been here since 1960! Mini – famous Norwegian National Team Player, playing for Rosenborg at the time) Jeg er veldig rolig. Kanskje er jeg for rolig. (I am very calm. Maybe I'm too calm/quiet. Eggen was seldom calm, and never quiet) Når du sier så mye som jeg gjør, så stemmer det ikke alltid. (When you say as much as I do, it can't all/always be factual/correct) Det er en pedagogisk villfarelse at enere skaper tapere. (It is an educational error that winners create losers) Hvis du ikke klarer å leve med å tape fotballkamper, kan du ikke holde på med det. (If you cannot live with losing football matches, you can not keep doing it) Jeg er bedre i fransk etter midnatt. (I'm better in French after midnight) Then – three quotes he offered directly to english speaking reporters/journalists : We play with 2 stoppers and 3 spisses. (Meant to say: We play with two CD's and three Forwards) There is hope in a hanging snore. (Meant to say: There is always some hope) My grammar is bad, but my meaning is good. (Speaks for itself ;-) ) It will be an honor to beat his team today - whatever way it is done.
Good luck mix! Hopefully after you win he will have a few golden quotes in the loss. Good to have you back posting!
Would be an outstanding move for NYCFC if they could pull it off, not sure it would be a great move for Mix though. They will have some serious cash to throw at his club as well.
One post in particular I found to be a bit strange is when Mix was called into the camp that was in Brazil a few months back. In his post he commented on being south of the equator for the first time...He was called into South Africa and met Nelson Mandela...That's not exactly something that slips your mind. That leads me to believe that there is some credibility that it could be someone else posting, or maybe someone else at the very least contributing to some of his posts. The interwebz should be taken with a grain of salt, but Mix is a great player and seems like a genuine good guy and I hope "his" posts on here continue.
Someone called him on it and he said he meant first time south of the equator in the America's. Maybe just a cover, maybe not. When I think of south of the equator I think Latin America.
Except of course for the fact that many of his teammates tweet him. It's obviously his actual twitter account and clearly he mentioned this website. People need to chill with the conspiracy theories.
With three young debutants starting on Thursday we made it to the 4th round in NM (The Cup). Congratulations to them. Result 0-3. I got hit, resulting in my left thigh stiffening - after coach had used sub #3. So, 35min took forever. If I truly feel like myself, again, I might be back for tomorrow's game - that is if coach recognizes me. Quiz? Where? When? Who? Why? Quiz results might be available by whom, when and where? Also, next (4th) round of NM will be drawn on Tuesday. And.... I am pretty sure I could choose Norway when it comes to Curling. I am for sure not going to wrestle, and probably not start acting either.
But I have friends that play professionally as do a lot of people, and it is clear to me that these guys are 1: Holy Shit Athletic and 2: Far to competitive to ever go along with staging a game.
