I used to watch the Blackhawks play in San Ramon at Cal High... I thought they were crazy to charge for the game.
There is no "Tenuously Quake Related" thread so I'll post this here and let the mods escort it as they may. The Goonies director Richard Donner says there will be a Goonies sequel. Okay Dave Kaval, maybe you should reach out to Hollywood and see if they would be interested in exploring working the San Jose Earthquakes into a scene or two? I was at the Club America game. Blackhawks were robbed of a goal, a header by Chinese national team forward Townsend Qin that was called back for no reason.
I remember that too. In fact, it still seems like yesterday (I'm old ). GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Yes, it wasn't much (like 5.00 or something). I was coaching 11 year olds back then and my team practiced at Cal High occasionally... we'd watch from the distance but would have loved to get them closer and talk about the tactics.
I saw them play at Cupertino HS, Newark Memorial and Spartan. It was such a weird time back then between the 1990 & 1994 World Cups. I never imagined (back then) that MLS would grow into the league it has become. When we all complain (myself included) about how things are with the current Quakes and MLS as a rule, I think back to that time and how a team of local west coast college all stars played at high school stadiums and I still can't believe how soccer and MLS has grown. Players and the few fans hoped and prayed that a new league would emerge but I don't think any of ever believed we'd ever live to see that day. A new stadium for example wasn't even thought about. Incredible!

Curry was at the game? Cool! Too bad the Quakes (Wondo specifically) didn't score a goal in the game :--(.
As happy as I am that Curry was at the game , I wish that he was still too busy with his day job to attend then. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
