I'll accept that I'm being a bit harsh. As your immediately preceding post pointed out, they did allow the earlier model to lead to questions that they then explored. That is a decent methodology. So, credit to them for trying to let the data tell a story and following the story the data tells.
Didn't want to look like a dork? That ship sailed a long time ago for me. You've just got to embrace it, man. EmbratDo?
Yes, yes. I much more like talking about grammar and how the English language came to be the way it is today. It's much more interesting than some stupid sport where you fall on the ground and roll around in pain for no other reason than to get another player ejected from the game.
SF writer H Beam Piper once described English as the result of Norman knights trying to pick up Anglo-Saxon barmaids. I don't believe he ever wrote anything about diving, embellishment, or relationship and/or differences between the two.
Why am I not surprised. Par for the course this season, it seems. http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/blogsrsl/57845792-49/rsl-injury-team-club.html.csp
Chalk another on up to a hammy issue. It's getting old. ...Also, I know he is a work in progress, but he didn't look great in the U20 matches. There were more exciting players playing in Dallas with the Academy. Granted, they are playing against different quality teams.
Saborio gets a call out in the Guardian: http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/apr/23/the-knowledge-most-red-cards-team-season
Oh geez I see what you did there. Thanks for bringing our attention to this article about...Saborio. Very enlightening. I wonder if you might like reading this older piece highlighting the style of play between our two teams (stubbornly clings to the past)
I found this link on the MLS website for all you who like to mix metaphors/memes: The MLS version of Game of Thrones. I guess the next thing to look out for is the MLS version of Star Wars and the MLS Version of Star Trek......
Nice piece in DesNews about Saborio. http://www.deseretnews.com/article/...er-Alvaro-Saborio-a-happy-camper-in-Utah.html
Nick Rimando named MLS Player of the Week. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...dom-dwyer-week-7s-player-week-after-voter-run
I cant believe it.. are you sure that Saborio wasn't the 2nd longest? I cant remember the last time RSL was first in anything.
I think that's a pretty good age group with which to begin. Not sure about limiting the team to 14 players and 2 alternates. I would guess that this is defined by the budget.
So, will they be playing at the America First Field? No mention of anything other than being based in Sandy.
I'm curious to see how the youth clubs react to this. In an ideal world, all the top players from those clubs come to this tryout. I'm pessimistic of this actually happening as clubs here aren't really for player development in the long run. Still, if this is done even somewhat properly, this is a great step to build a club model with RSL.
