Week 8 Here's what we have on the slate (isn't that great?): As always, please keep it (female)-friendly and (gender)-neutral in the PBP thread.
How will Body Dysmorphic Disorder FC disappoint me this weekend? However they do it, because of family commitments, I'm not likely to see that game or really any game this weekend. Plus I'm skipping the Wednesday game just because. This pretty much guarantees this is gonna be the most awesome week of MLS action in memory. You're welcome ...
but... but... how are we suppose to be entertained without the anguish of your disappointment in PBP?
I'm tired of these mid-afternoon starts. I've put off needed activities as long as I can, but I'm going to have to record this wee'ks Rapids game and watch it later Saturday evening.
Oh good, maybe I'll watch then. I was tempted to stay away after the pain of watching recent games involving either NYRB or Houston.
Now that I look at things more closely, I'll probably catch the first half, and definitely miss the second. So I recommend you tune in for the second.
Since I work on left coast time (but work on the Eastern seaboard), I won't be getting home until the second half, so go right ahead and ruin the first half, Knave, and I'll complete the job of ruining the second half when I get home.
I finally got around to watching the 30 for 30 on the Hillsborough Disaster. You have to see it. Pirate it if you have to, but ... my lord ... you need to watch that thing. It's a riveting, incredible documentary. Not easy to watch. Far from it. But you need to watch it. I had to say that somewhere. That thing's going to haunt me.
The latest two that debut Tuesday was 50/50. The Maradona one was pretty weak compared to the Hillsborough but the one about Chile was really good I felt that one could have been made much longer.
hrm. just realized it's first round of Voyageurs Cup, Edmonton vs Ottawa. Do I watch 2 crappy NASL teams duke it out, or watch NY vs Houston? because you know, the quality of play is probably going to be about the same
At the rate the Mariners are losing, overlap will be the least of anyones' concerns. The Mariners should worry more about the Sounders outdrawing them for the M's weekend games combined.
Just heard from a friend that the Revs just signed Shalrie Joseph. What can you say? The man needs more weed money.
Yeah, the Mariners are looking terrible again, and after about ten years of that, they pretty much never outdrew the Sounders the last couple of years. soundermiki is spot on.
For those of you (like me) who like midweek MLS matches to break up the monotony of the work week, and avoid our significant others for an extra day, there are Wednesday games every week, except next week, from now until the World Cup. Hooray lethargic, small-crowd-watching midweek games!!
