Honestly, they could build a submarine fleet after Dutch footballers and a couple destroyers named Davids and de Jong.
I posted this elsewhere but it's worth repeating... ____ Some 'stats' for those that love them. Chelsea possession - 43% Atletico Madrid - 57% Result - The death of football as we know it. Possession - Real Madrid 23% Bayern - 77% Result. An ultra competitive contest as two giants of the game go 'toe-to-toe' ____ Stats were accurate when I posted them on the BBC website at about 70 mins
Madrid, almost managing to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. That's why you don't want people defending trying to 'play the ball'.
NEVER a pen. The ball was between them and neither had the better position. Just two fellas going for the ball.
Better result for Real than I thought given Gus Johnson just said 1-0 to Real, here in Munich. What a twonk.
both he and Alonso were excellent really wish we could have landed Modric but with Levy running the show that was not going to happen
Pretty entertaining match. Madrid could have been up by 3 at HT despite only having like 3% possession.
I thought we only had 31% possession to Atleti's 69% http://espnfc.com/us/en/report/391816/report.html?soccernet=true&cc=5901
Possession doesn't mean anything. Madrid were going to the other end whenever they had the ball while we were hardly trying or giving the ball away with misplaced passes/long balls (better personnel maybe). Today had more end to end stuff. This match was pretty entertaining even with the possession difference. Yesterday was a snore fest. Harsh but true.
That's why I always say that most 'stats' are bollocks. The Grauniad - 43 - 57 ESPN - 31 - 69 Actually, the BBC agrees with ESPN... and I do mean EXACTLY! In fact, some cynical buggers might think they're using the same stats... but, not me, obviously Makes you wonder what ESPN would give for this match, doesn't it. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27119749
