How much of that is true? Not doubting it. It's still his choice though, not like he's financially dependent on his dad
Still boggles my mind though. I get it , the premier league is a great league with the best football bla bla bla. But he went from Roma to Tottenham. Which is basically like... the same kind of team. can't understand it.
Yeah, hindsight is always 20-20 but just remember most people here were tipping Roma for 5th/6th place if we're lucky. We had 3 managers in two years. Just lost a cup final to Lazio. All of our best players were for sale it seemed. We were buying "failures" like Gervinho. Players were being insulted by fans in preseason. Fans were up in arms over the change in crest. Osvaldo....... no further explanation needed. Probably missing some other things but point is it wasn't all roses around Roma, similar to Tottenham in fact right now. Clearly though there was the nucleus of something good but players/fans have a hard time seeing that.
.@Angelomangiante confirms @Coco_Lamela saw Roma's back specialist today and is due back in London tomorrow. #THFC— Hotspur Related (@HotspurRelated) April 23, 2014 Angelo Mangiante confirms what I was saying. I don't know who it is but apparently Roma has a back specialist on staff. This isn't the first time he went back to Roma to see this guy.
I know who is the back specialist. He is known for dealing with teenagers, and his 1st name is Walter.
Alright , but still the same kind of club. we're not the top , and they aren't either , professionally wise it was a strange move , i could of understood if he went to a top club.
Spurs would probably do alot better in Italy with the talent in their squad. Inter would fight relegation in BPL lol
Only if we buy Benzema with that money. If we get any lower than that , then i'd like to keep Destro and get Drogba , just to let Destro mature.
Rudi's words are... curious to say the least. he keeps saying he wants new players , and this one line in the press conference particularly impressed me. "Q: Malagò ha detto che questo è un campionato livellato verso il basso" “A: Ha i suoi motivi per dire questo e bisognerebbe chiederlo a lui. Qui in Italia servono stadi nuovi e poi fare come hanno fatto il Napoli e la Juventus che hanno acquistato Higuain e Tevez. Servono questi giocatori”." he's basically saying he wants top players .
Are you a believer in Mattia's skill or positioning? I must say Destro has a good feel of where to be, but I'm not sure I've seen him create anything on his own. I dont believe him to be the lead striker of a CL competitive team battling out of the group stages. We need a lead striker that doesn't have to wait on others creativity/vision...in my opinion.
as long as he scores on average 1 goal a game, he doesn't need to create anything he has positioning, anticipation, and composure. he's there to concert chances that others in the team would fluff (looking your way Gervais). there's plenty of world class strikers out there who cant create. Destro can become one of them he can be our Pippo
if you're looking for a current footballer who scores a lot of goals and can't create, look no further than Radamel Falcao
I believe that Roma featuring Destro could make it out of the group in CL, however, I do not believe he is the answer against the top 5 clubs once you make it out of the groups. I agree he can grow in to something with time, but we need an answer in the fall....
