Just got back from El Jaish vs. Bunyodkor.... that's what you call a "happy ending"!
I was like the only Uzbek fan there until they showed up around the 60th minute... seemed like Uzbekistan had a legitimate 2nd goal disallowed in the 2nd half and a guy missed a sitter which may have proved costly but I guess it was all part of the masterplan for that final ending!

The rules from what I understand are broken down into section.

Play Off registration
Group Stage registration
Knock Out Stage registration

The player in question was registered for the Play Off Stage with Lokomotiv, then transferred and registered for Bunyodkor in the Group Stage. He could in theory be transferred again and still play in the Knockout Stage with a different club.

He couldn't have played in a Group Stage for two different clubs.

So, as I understand it, Bunyodkor are fine. It's not clear. But AFC treat all three phases as new phases of competition where you re-register upto 30 players on every occasion, these players could always change.
