I don't mind Webb. So long as Ribery doesn't have his fuse lit, we will be okay.

What is the yellow card scenario? (or point somewhere in the thread were it is discussed)

 

I would be extremely happy with a 2-2 score. We cant go in without scoring something..

 

Mandzukic 1 yellow from suspension.

Ramos and Alonso 1 yellow from suspension.

I think Mandzukic is either going to play in this match and miss the second leg, or play in the second leg and hopefully get some home field calls to stay clean for a potential final. He is going to battle Pepe and Ramos all match long, and in the Bernebeu I don't see him playing 90 minutes without picking up a card. For that reason, I think he should start on the bench.

I hope Alonso and Ramos don't get carded in the first game; this way they get to play in the second and nervously so, in the hope of not missing out on a rare final Works well for us, since Illaramendi and Varane would be a better fit for them.

I don't know... I think I would rather have him find the away goal(s) necessary for the 2nd leg cushion, potentially sit or miss the return leg.

Worst case would be to pick the card up in the home leg and miss the final. No an acceptable scenario.

 

Götze never has been in that position without Müller playing. It was always a mixture between him and Götze and the best scenes Götze had in that matches were when Müller blocked the defenders. So I doubt this.

Guardiola since weeks only plays the combination with Schweinsteiger and Kroos (only exception was the Augsburg match in which he did not care at all about the formation because of resting for United - and Schweinsteiger was booked for the second match) when he uses Müller as striker (then with Lahm in midfield) or hanging striker (with Lahm as full back).

So I think the most unrealistic scenario is Götze in this formation - especially as the striker in this formation would have to be very energetic and Götze played 90 minutes Saturday whereas Guardiola gave Müller and Mandzukic rests and substituted them late. We especially need Robben in such matches - and Robben very often has stated that Müller is his favourite fellow player as he needs his runs. So if we play without Mandzukic it will for sure be Müller who plays - but it could very much be that both Mandzu and Müller play.

 

I just hope Lahm and Alaba play a bit more fuback then usual. They have speed on all three players up top and will find space out wide if those two are out of position.

 

Based on our big away matches this season, I think Mueller will start. He started ahead of Mandzukic away to Manchester City, and Manchester United.

 

i think they should just get carded in the first game. It just makes things much easier on the second game.

 

i would rather we play our most potent 11. Score it out with RM, so we don't have to worry about the goal deficit at home. Play the best game we can play and WIN at RM.

And look what happened against Scum Utd... Mandzu should start but he's got to dial it down on the hard tackles.

 

Real isn't going to bunker down like ManU. There will be a lot more space available in the final third.
