    Division 2 result yesterday :
Doncaster Belles 4 Oxford United 1

Donnie Belles top of the Division 2.

Reminder no automatic promotion for the Division 2 winner. Promotion depends on the team achieving Division 1 criteria on money and marketing terms.

7 games today. 3 in division 1 and 4 in division 2. Arsenal v Birmingham postponed due the UEFA WCL.
Division 1 season takes a break until the 18th of May for cup games after today.

    Division 1 results

    Chelsea 0 Liverpool 0
    Everton 0 Notts County 2
    Man City 0 Bristol 2

Man City bottom of the League with 0 point in 2. Surprisingly Notts County are top of the League with 4 points in 2. They are fully professional after taking over the Lincoln franchise.

Unofficial news came on Saturday that Ellen White has done her ACL. Someone at the Birmingham Tyreso game asked Rachel Unitt why Ellen White wasn't playing and got the dreaded answer.

Yes I was there the referee was poor for the whole game, disgraceful decision for the red card. I could mention 3 potential red cards flashpoints during the game : an off the ball elbow in the face from Dowie to Flaherty a violent and dangerous tackle from Easton and Blundell and Ogimi kicking the goalkeeper in the face after her late tackle ( between yellow and red cad for me, as she is endangering the safety of the opponent) .

I am actually on the video at 02:26 when Laura Commbs #19 for Chelsea shapes up for the shot, 3 guys I am the one with the grey coat and the hood.

Lol, I know it was raining hard, so there wasn't much to be enthousiastic about, but you seemed to follow the game in a very calm and relaxed way: everytime the camera was capturing you, you were standing still in the same exact position with your hands in your pockets, shlj... :giggle:

Just my normal modus operandi at a football game. What annoyed me most is the referee not protecting the physical integrity of the players. It is raining heavily sliding tackle at full force are extremely dangerous.
Liverpool lost 2 players due to injury, Longhurst who injured herself tackling a Chelsea player and Stout kicked in the face by Ogimi. There is no doubt it was not intentional, but late and extremely dangerous.

    2. Yuki Ogimi, Chelsea 2
    3. Alex Scott, Arsenal, Natasha Dowie, Liverpool, Angharad James, Bristol, Jasmine Matthews, Bristol 1

FA Women's Cup result from last night :

Liverpool 0 Everton 2 quite an upset for the champions. They are paying the price for their limited squad. To their 3 long terms injury Zelem, Staniforth and Rolser, were added Stout and Longhurst as the result of the Chelsea game last Sunday. They now have only 2 fit forwards. Davison and Dowie.

    In Division 2

Doncaster Belles 5 Reading Women 2
After 3 games Reading promotion hopes have gone down after loosing to their 2 rivals and now 6 points behind the Belles already.

If you remember what happened after gameday 1 of the 2013 season :
Doncaster Belles demoted to Division 2 and City promoted to Division 1 whilst they finished 4th at the 2nd level.

    Yesterday's Continental Cup result :

    Doncaster 2 Man City 1

I love it, I love, I love it ! I remember all the petitions we signed at the time, protesting against the FA decision. Sweeet reveeenge ! Now, we hope that the Belles will finish top of FAWSL2 and City at the bottom of FAWSL1, and see how FA will justify (money, money) to keep City in the league instead the Rovers one more year......

:ROFLMAO: (well, I like some City players, I'm not naughtily laughing at them personally, but at the club).

Disappointed by the Bees, I hope they will be better next time.

I saw that Ohno scored her first goal with the Gunners, and that she and Kinga haven't been called for the AFC Cup. Do you know if Arsenal officially refused to let them go ? Ogimi (I suppose Ji too) has been call, but will come back after the group stage (and Japan's qualification for the WWC obtained).

Liverpool unable to beat (and score !) again against Everton... Do the girls sing "You'll never walk alone" too ?

Bristol is brilliant ! Go, Aardman team, go !

Just one question: what's exactly Continental Cup, and how many competitions there are in a single season for FA WSL's teams?

For instance, do I remember well that Ji So-Yun served her one-match-suspension in a match from a different cup?

Shlj will give you all explanations. Meanwhile, let's just say that the Continental Cup (Conti Cup) is a Cup with FAWSL1 and 2 competing. The other cup is the FA Cup with all division teams.

Here is the video of the Belles's success against Man City

Continental is a tyre sponsor, this is not a cup from teams around Europe  it is replacing the old FA WPL League Cup and as Gromit said is played by all the WSL sides. The last 3 seasons there were 8 teams in it and this season there are 18 teams.

The FA WSL teams also play the FA Women's Cup and the FA WSL (the League) and 2 teams also compete in the UEFA Women's Champions League. Teams are guaranteed to play ( 14 + 1 + 5 ) 20 games minimum per sason.
Domestic suspension apply to any of those 3 competitions, whichever game comes first in the calendar.

    FA Cup semi-finals :

Underdog and financially poor with homegrown players Everton beat quite rich and full of foreigners Notts County 2-0. I am exagerating the tone but the FA must have been pleased that the team with many young English players won.

In the other game, it was just crazy, Arsenal won 5-3 against Chelsea after extra time. Chelsea took the lead twice in normal and twice Kelly Smith scored to put Arsenal level inside 2 minutes of the restart. Smith operated at an exceptional level yesterday. Hopefully we will see some highlights because it was a great game.

So Arsenal v Everton in the final on Sunday the 1st of June at MK Stadium.
