Defoe would be a better example (non-American), it would definitely be a shock, I know LA gave Gio DosSantos a shot, I see him more of a possibility than Chicharo. But even if he does not come to MLS, as they say, you miss 100% of the shots that you do not take, so MLS (a MLS team) making an offer is a good thing.
Unfortunately I'd see one of the LA franchises, NY franchises, Or teaxas teams making a run at him before we ever do. And I doubt he wants to play in MLS right now anyway so it is moot.
Don't be such a debbie downer. The nice thing about MLS is very rarely have all the teams at the top been there because of quality. Usually at least 2 or 3 of them are there riding luck or hot streaks. Just because it hasn't been us in the past, doesn't mean it can't be us in the future. I and few other Fire fans will be attending the game. If you decide to get food here make sure you go early and leave yourself enough time to get to the Red Stars game as they're usually very busy on the weekends.
