O/T but what the heck. Valenciennes is a strange case of success with little investment. They were virtually dismantled as a club in the 90s, due to mismanagement and corruption (including match fixing). So they had to start from nothing, and climbed the divisions in a matter of seven years. When they made the top again in 2006, nobody thought they were going to last. But they've stuck there for eight years. This one is likely to be their last, though.
Nice article with Ale about his aspirations next season and the WC http://pays-de-la-loire.france3.fr/...score-10-goals-nantes-next-season-459341.html
5th league goal of the season. now their 2nd top scorer this season in all competitions. In the link he mentions their top scorer leaving this summer?
Bedoya's goal is around 1:28....nice little run, great finish: http://www.socceroverthere.com/?p=16349 An aside but you really see the powers of relegation at 5:02 when the camera flashes on the opponent's owner. Also is Ale now technically the all-time leading scorer of Americans in Ligue 1?
Slick finish. I always forget about Bedoya when I think how this season has been a fairly rough one for Yanks abroad. I blame my lack of beIn sports in HD. Technology has spoiled me.
Only took 1 season right. If I remember Davies had a brace in his 2nd match for Sochaux years ago. Damn just thinking of it makes me ponder. He would have lit that league on Fire.
Halftime 0-1 Nantes vs. Marsielle. Apparently Bedoya almost had a really nice goal according to Twitter Christopher McCollum @CKMcCollum 12m That was almost phenomenal fom Bedoya. Excellent 1v1 skill to beat his defender and get a clean shot on goal. Curled too close to GK though.
If I understand this correctly - it seems like Nantes fans want Bedoya to lead the "I believe that we will win" chant post-match https://www.facebook.com/pages/Pour...oire-le-10-mai/296835987138583?ref=ts&fref=ts
Hi A link with a better quality : A variation "Alejandro Bedoya !" A the opposite of the stadium : https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=663222433742908
That chant is much better when its "I believe that we have won" in the last moments of a game you're clearly going to win.
I'm naturally optimistic but I like and truly believe he can help lead his team next season. Maybe not mid-table but def avoid relegation. But everytime I read about his success now at France, I think of Davies and what could have been.
