Anyone know what happened to Josh Saunders? I remember he was released for the re entry draft at the end of last year. I though he was selected by a team but never signed. I remember he appeared at a few RSL jersey release events, but he is not listed on the roster on the team website.
No kidding! It must be weird to go from starting for the 2012 Gals in the MLS cup game, to a backup for RSL and then off into the ozone.
I've not heard anything since his ACL injury. I thought we would have heard more about his recovery. I actually forgot all about him since he wad out all season. Maybe he thought it was a good time to retire.
No way, dude still had a couple years in him. Try to get that last big paycheck. Or maybe the injury was worse than expected If he did I'd hope he could get an office job of some sort for one of the teams he played for.
Movsisian looks to be getting back in form from Knee surgery, he got match winner yesterday for his struggling Spartak Moscow side.
Apparently Saunders is training with the team right now to try to get fit again . https://twitter.com/chriskamrani/status/456127526750785536
Danny Toia came on at halftime for Chivas USA against Seattle tonight. Did nothing of note except earn a yellow in stoppage that bordered on a red. Also, Robbie Russell was the analyst on the NBCSN broadcast today.
Interesting. I didn't know that his non-soccer skills had to do with broadcast journalism. Usually you get former players will some kind of name cachet like Whinealda, Keller or the guy with the red hair whose name escapes me at the moment.
Yeah, or that Dunseth guy, who had tons of name cachet! LOL! Russell is a very bright guy, bachelors from Duke, working on a pre-med post-baccalaureate degree at Georgetown. If he decides medicine is not his future, he may have a nice career in the emerging broadcast juggernaut of televised soccer. NBCSN is also grooming Tim Howard for the booth, using him on Sunday broadcasts when Everton has played on Saturday.
At the risk of being wildly insensitive and un-PC, I was reminded of this scene from What About Bob when thinking of someone with Tourette's being mic'ed up constantly: (In fairness to Timmy, I don't believe the vocal outbursts are something he suffers with, but I cannot think about Tourette's without thinking about WAB?)
Both Donny Toia and Tim Melia on the field at the same time for Chivas tonight. Melia spent 2010 and 2011 as a backup GK with the team - zero appearances - while Toia was our first HG signing, who made zero appearances in 2011.
He probably would if Wright-Phillips didn't score 4 goals this week. Though Dempsey scored 2 so I'm sure the media would have totally ignored Espi either way.
Dunny gettin' some love from the MLS website. And they didn't even bring up "Drink with Dunny", "snap header", or "skill check". http://www.mlssoccer.com/sideline/n...-bruin-stunt-double-and-how-i-met-your-mother
