40 in 40: Relive the first goal in Quakes history with Mani Mani Hernandez talks scoring the first goal in the first game in Quakes history
It is killing me not to be in town this weekend to pay tribute to Johnny... (My son is in the Arizona State Cup Championship SemiFinals Saturday, Final on Sunday if they win Saturday and I cannot miss being there for him!). I want to once again publicly thank Jed Mettee, David Kaval and the rest of the front office staff for their continued efforts to pay homage to the history of the San Jose Earthquakes! No other professional soccer club comes close in our country... not one! I hope everyone has a great weekend and Congratulations "Wee Man", you are MOST deserving of this!
Forty years. Can't believe where the time has gone. When I think back to my first game back in 1974 going with my dad,mom , sisters , uncles and cousins , I get tears in my eyes.Too bad they folded in 1989 but its cool that MLS is where its at today!
This is a big deal - honoring the most legendary of Quakes legends - the one guy who is really the bridge between the two eras and the most passionate of all Quakes. Congrats, Wee Man! [I'm sure we'll be seeing another #8 going in to the Quakes Hall of Fame at some future date].
