part of the Christian traditions surrounding Easter includes the statement, "He is risen" followed by "He is risen, indeed!" well, it will be around a month before Pentacost Sunday (June 8) when Liverpool supporters might be saying, "We iz rizzen!" one match at a time, lads!
Soft, sure. But it was Mike Dean making up for not sending off Ramires. It's funny, though, that Chelsea players were diving all over the place trying to win pens and free kicks late in the second half when they saw they weren't going to score, yet a soft pen does them in.
The FA will do their darnedest to make sure that chel$ki are at full strength as they want this going down to the wire.
he's just turned 21 and i see him as a player who can hold the ball up, a more active version of Andy Carroll, who, when fit and not hung over, could score goals. his dad is No. Irish, so Rodgers ought to be keen on him. but, you might be right about the fit. i'd like to see how he plays in a side that is quick on the counter. he's not lumberingly slow like Carroll.
Results have been great lately, but if we do go on to win it, it won't have been given to us - we'll have flat-out earned it
In the midst of all this mad theatre, this is the first time the chavs have had a penalty given against them.
in that fateful season of '08/'09, where there were only 2 losses but 11 draws, Liverpool won 10 of the last 11 and it wasn't good enough. it would be ironic if the lads won the title with 5 losses but won the last 14. the difference is the draws. only 5 so far. Norwich is only conceding 0.76 goals against at home. they have 24 points from 17 matches at Carrow Road. this is going to be a real test.
Somebody correct my math but if we win in Norwich and against Chel$ski and Citeh lose on Monday and next Sunday, then we are champs, no?
if Liverpool doesn't lose any of the remaining matches, the title is theirs. if Liverpool wins the match agin Chelsea and the match against Norwich, that's 83 points. one more win is 86. Man City is on 71 and can end on 86 if they win out. Chelsea is on 75 points with 3 to play. they can end on 84 if they win out. Sooo, Liverpool can win the title if they get full points in 3 of the final 4 matches, ending on 86, if the GD is better than Man City. the problem w/ GD is that it's 51 - 54 in favor of Citeh and they have a game in hand. if Man City only wins 4 of the 5 remaining matches, they end on no better than 84. if Liverpool wins 3 and draws one that's 87. wins 2, draws 2 that's 85.
Nail on the head in both instances. One of my biggest frustration during the 08/09 campaign was Benitez's seemingly single-mined focus on "not losing" first rather than go flat out for a win whichever way. And that philosophy would in the end justify the pursuit of Barry at the expense of Alonso.
Ramsey has scored a beautiful goal for Arsenal. His loss to injury was such a huge blow for the Gunners.
Ramsey is brilliant. It's gonna be hilarious when one of Arsenal's parent clubs buy him, whether it be City or Barca.
Well, Naismith has been playing like a donkey, blazing over when clear. Then Jones concedes the inevitable penalty and Baines scores. 1-0.
Gotta love Baines scoring against Yanited for the first time since essentially turning them down to stay at Blue Liverpool. Bitters 1 - 0 Scum This Bitter-Scum Derby needs a bit more spice to it though. It's been a bit clumsy from both sides.
@TonyBarretTimes: That's the first penalty Everton have scored against United in the league for 42 years. Joe Royle was the last to do so.
