Game 4 of this series is on the same day as the Houston Dynamo vs. Portland Timbers MLS match.

A pro sports town rivalry between the two cities, Houston and Portland.:)

We're actually in the midst of a Bay Area/Los Angeles showdown:

    - Oakland Athletics vs LA Angels finished yesterday (A's won 2 games to 1)
    - San Francisco Giants vs LA Dodgers finished today (SF won 2 games to 1)
    - San Jose Sharks vs LA Kings starts tonight
    - Golden State Warriors vs LA Clippers starts Saturday

Eff all those teams except the Warriors. OK the A's are cool.

Still, I like the trend so far.

Not surprisingly, the 3-5 and 4-5 matchups in each conference are probably the most interesting this round.

And isn't the finals format changing this year? The Spurs totally would have won that game 6 if it was home last season! :) :(

It's a pretty basic concept - either trade me where I want to go or I opt out.

But if he opts out he still needs to sign somewhere

Knicks won't let him opt out though.. thats what he's trying to get at. Knicks will rather trade him to Houston than let him opt out to Chicago or anywhere.

We should set up a playoff bracket competition

Let's all agree that the Hawks being in and the Suns being out sucks.

I think they should move the playoffs in a different direction since for years you could be crap in the east and still make the playoffs. Maybe have the NBA be a top 8, so top 8 teams in league make it, making playoffs even tougher and winning it that much more special?

Yeah, right, there's no way greedy owners reverse the trends of more teams in the playoffs and more playoff games played.

Too bad there isn't some kind of Champions League-type solution. Have the continents' best teams play a tournament. Who wouldn't want to watch that Chinese team with Marbury on it playing against the Heat or the Spurs? Alright, a lot of people wouldn't but still. :D

Yeah I know it isn't feasible at this point unfortunately. Tired of sub 500 teams making the playoffs, even if it is the Sixers. Teams in the west are far more deserving who play well. Just speaking Utopian from a watching perspective.

But Houston would have to sign and trade anyways if he opts out. The Bulls sign and trade offer is also better than that of Houston.

You need to balance the regular season schedule first.

each NBA team play one another twice, one at home and one away?

Would get rid of those 3 games in 3 days stuff.

It would also get rid of a large chunk of revenue going from 82 to 58 games

I think the best idea would be just to cancel the conferences. Make the best 16 teams in the league make the playoffs
    [IMG]

Something like this would be far more entertaining IMO.

I was confident about a couple months ago, when I felt we'd probably face the Bulls in the playoffs.

Well now the Bulls are showing, they are ready for the post season. Im not really as confident anymore, but I think we could at least have a respectable showingf.

I don't think the team with homecourt advantage should ever trail in the number of home games in a series

    I made bold predictions.

Warriors over clippers, Houston over san antonio & OKC. Brooklyn over miami, and indiana winning it all.
No point predicting straightforward stuff like spurs winning it all. Wanted to make a big prediction.
