That stuff around 2:40 was pretty awesome... just a bit wide of the post.
I also like that he didn't go down at 3:30... though it probably would've been the smart thing to do, and certainly 99% of players in Europe would have gone for the PK dive there.

Place 7 is enough for Europa League this year cause Bayern vs Dortmund or Bayern vs Wolfsburg is the most likely scenario in DFB Cup Final and then place 7 is enough for the EL qualifiy which is very very very possible for Mainz and i am very sure that Mainz wins the last 3 of 4 games maybe the can get even place 4 but EL qualification is almost for sure. If Bayern lose against Kaiserslautern in the semi final of the cup 7 place isn`t enough but that`s impossible =). So, some european football from Okazaki is 99% likely

Take in mind that that's EL playoffs. Chances to get in EL are good but you know Stuttgart f*cked up this year for example

Yeah I know thats the Playoffs but and anything is possible from lose to win there but you can`t compare Mainz to Stuttgart.

Stuttgart is a disaster since 2 years and Mainz is getting better and better. From pure quality Mainz is clearly better.

Stuttgart was the first Buli team not passing the EL qualification. For Mainz the problem is not if they make it to the main competition, but if the squad has enough depth as well as the mentality to focus on league and EL. With Choupo-Moting and Pospech on the way out their transfer activity this summer will be interesting for sure.

Indeed, doing well both in the league and internationally at the same time has long been some oxymoron for most Buli clubs (see e.g. Frankfurt this season). But I don't worry too much about Mainz as Tuchel already experienced the fast way out of the EL in 2011 and I'm sure he's more prepared this time, and they have always done well finding new players that can add to the squad in the long run (and players like Koo are still on the way getting there).

They have Choupo-Moting replacement in Todor Nedelev. Replacing Pospech won't be easy but Mainz are good at replacing their departed stars.

Maybe Mainz can buy a player from J league for squad depth. Maybe Haraguchi for Choupo-Moutin?

gordon........why would you want to send Haraguchi (or any Japanese player for that matter) ANYWHERE to be a player bought for "squad depth"?

We already had that with Yuki Otsu at B.Monchengladbach.

    Or Kisho Yano at Freiburg.

The cases of Yuki Otsu and Kisho Yano were far worse than "squad depth".

Kagawa would be a better example IMO.

If Mainz is extremely lucky and gets the 4th place, I would not mind. But most porbably Mainz will end up around 6/7th.
You think Haraguchi have more potential than them than Otsu and Yano, I suggest Mainz as he is a wide forward like Choupo-Moutin and he would not cost much.

Mainz have enough wide players on their payroll even with Choupo-Moting most likely to leave.

Kagawa's case is more one of "coach inept" tho. :p

Which clubs do you think would suit Haraguchi the most? You think he have more potential than Otsu and Yano in your opinion?
