Hazard is obviously ideal, but that is a pipe dream. I don't really see anyone else on the radar that I'm dying to have and personally I think Muller should be given a chance. I agree with you that if we're going to be playing this 4-3-3 then Gotze is going to have to move to the wing to get playing time, which is fine because I thought he was best out on the right wing in his time at Dortmund (when Kagawa was in the middle).

Obviously the 4-4-2 is not Pep's style.

    Use common sense.

I was referring to moving away from using wingers. Guardiola almost never used more than 1 true winger.

Pep uses width but not like Bayern. Barca dominated parts of the pitch and went for numerical superiority from side to side wherever they had possession, Bayern stays far more spread out with Ribery and Robben hugging opposite touchlines for most of the match whether or not they have the ball.

I too think Hazard is unlikely, but there were PSG rumors so maybe a big transfer fee could do it in a year or whatever(when does his contract expire?). Either way, hopefully there's the next big winger by that time that we can purchase or Green gets on roids and turns into a monster.

He only used one "winger" perhaps, but he deployed David Villa extremely wide. When Barcelona was in possession, David Villa was on the damn touchline. So okay maybe "David Villa is a forward" but he was deployed wide as ********.

Pep preferes quick agile midfielders in the center. I think this is the main focus of his system of play as we saw at Barca. Many think it revolves around the false 9 creation but that is merely a reflection of the essential, the engine in the center.

I think we can all agree that Thiago was the perfect person in this role, and it is NO coincidence ALL Bayern's losses have been since his injury. Our center midfield was at its best with Kroos, Lahm, Thiago in its center. Schweini has been poor really since returning, no where near the form he needs to be. Pairing he and Kroos, or Martinez and either is just too slow of a midfield for Pep scheme - hence Javi to CB.

I hope we sign Kroos. Given his performance this season, with Lahm in behind him, he has been more effective than Bastian this season, and with only just over a just over a handful of games left in the season, we need a CM pairing that is clicking. Kroos has a future here. Bayern need to pony up.

Tomorrow(in Germany) Bild will supposedly give an update on how we plan with personnel for next season, so hopefully it still comes out today for us.

He's valued at 18M at TM and Roma had paid Udinese 13.5M to get him. If he's inclined to join Bayern, I think he'd be available for a lesser sum. He has good pace, good ball control and is very good at scoring off set pieces. Would be a great transfer if it materializes.

Watch a match if you have time. YouTube videos are misleading, and IMO, not good for making an opinion on a player.

I'd rather see us spend 36 millions on the right 19 year old than 25-30 millions on an equally unproven 27 year old, but that's just me.

As long as we get a quality CB that Guardiola is happy with, I will be pleased.

    From the latest from Bild:

-Rode is coming in as a right back. Pep trusts he will bring a fighters spirit into the team. Will battle there with Rafinha.
-Van Buyten close to the end of his time here
-Laporte is not coming. They will not make Badstubers road to coming back into the rotation more difficult
-If Mandzukic stays, Pizarro goes. Decision to be made at end of season.
-searching for an Alaba backup. Contento can leave at end of season with Hoffenheim showing interest

Is rode any better then rafhina?

Btw does this mean lahm moves to the 6 role permenantly?

I really don't like rafhina at RB full time...

If Rode turns out to be a quality RB that would be fantastic.

Didn't he used to play RM before he moved to CM?

Did some research, turns out he was indeed a RM before CM. That might help him adjust at RB.

Just wondering with Lewa and Rode coming for free, whats our transfer kitty for next season?

Well, Lewandowski is not really 'free', he and his agents will receive 15-20 millions upfront.

On top of that I'd assume 30-40 million Euros for whatever player Guardiola deems necessary.

Lewy and Rode are likely more players that FO really wanted (and convinced Pep). So I would expect one player Pep wants with an infinite transfer kitty.

Rode and Rafinha battling it out for the RB sounds cringeworthy, I really hope Rode can surprise us because Rafinha is not good enough for the big games.

I think this is probably accurate. Maybe 2 players that Pep wants.

Hopefully the competition will make them better.

If not we still have Lahm for the big matches.
