I'm going to go head to head with you on this, he's getting a header on a corner in our 1-1 result. If he doesn't, then you might be right.
My thoughts too, but this is a team that just doesn't make playoffs. I have no idea how prominent Columbus hockey fans are, but this is definitely a rarity for them, I'm sure they want to see every possible minute. Also, no disrespect to freekickwiz, but what's the relevance of how full their stadium is?
More of just a random observation. If there stadium is packed full, it's a more intimidating place to play.
Well if you mean the each of the seats themselves are packed full, then yes, yes they probably will be. But if you mean all the seats in the stadium will be full, then no, no probably not.
Fear the Nordecke! They know German or how to use Google Translate! In Babblefish they are Nordflaeche!
"We all laugh at the yellow football team, the yellow football team, the yellow football team" We have film, I hope, of the last match. We know what they want to do and how they defend. But mainly we should know that we must cut off the head (Higuin) and the body will fall. Now can our top of the line coaching staff devise a tactical plan? We shall see. Vamos United!
I'll see your scoreboard fire and raise you a River Fire (yes, technically Cleveland, but it's Ohio, so close enough):
Removing my head from the fumes and delusional grandeur from 7 points in 3 games, I'm citing this club as still a "work in progress." To date this season, we've got a home drubbing where we were shut-out, a close road loss for our 2nd shut-out, a home tie where we score 2 goals and lose the lead late, a home win thanks to MVP Own Goal and a late strike by new/old acquisition Chris Rolfe, and finally a home win where our defense headed by a late notified GK made a lone glorious goal off a corner kick (& 2 headers, but we'll take anything when it comes to corners) stand to earn us points 5,6 and 7. The point in reviewing our progress so far- so to allow for these boards to properly define what further progress can and will constitute. I suggest it arrive in the form of winning a contest on the road with us scoring 2 or more goals where the opposition's offense also finds similar success despite a great defensive effort by our own United. But our club, and its offense particularly, finds a way to win. Something like DC 3 -Columbus 2. And all post-match quotes from the team can't find the words or phrases "clean-sheet", or "dig in" or "defensive integrity" ANY WHERE!! Progress indeed. Vamos United!! Vamanos!!
I think we'd ALL feel better if those were found absent from the post-match quotes as well. The goal- to get a post-match quote saying something like- "We fought hard through this match, the competition was intense- but we just knew if we kept getting after it all over the pitch for 90'+ the goals would come. And they did."
C'mon... CSN and CSN+ have busy schedules. Sure there's not actually anything on CSN+, but there is college baseball and gymnastics on CSN.
