Honda, Kagawa selected in Japan's World Cup squad http://www.miamiherald.com/2014/05/12/4112207/honda-kagawa-selected-in-japans.html
Rowdies have a home game the day after the Japan v Zambia game. It would be smart if Rowdies could reschedule this game to Friday June 6 at RayJay and play before the Japan game. Would be a great PR move and would be cool to have the Rowdies playing at RayJay and actually in Tampa again. Not to mention Minnesota has a pretty decent squad this year so the game should be decent.
Thats a good idea. Taking advantage of the pre WC friendlies would/should benefit any NASL club who has a possible scenerio such as this. The WNT play at RJ during the break of seasons on June 14th. Finding a viable international club and schedule them before this match as well. WNT have a Sat 7:30 start so a late afternoon game could be a perfect time.
Oh I agree 100% but so far the Rowdies new ownership has been up to the task. Setting up a key second leg of the I-4 Derby to be the week before the NASL resumes the second part of the season. Adding a pro side from Europe to a very week pre season schedule as the final pre season match. Now if they should advance in the open they will be playing a round 4 game the week of the USWNT match
How is a friendly (against a club that always beats us) a 'key' match. Not sure an Icelandic side is anything to crow about and they were already in the area. The Rowdies had nothing to do with it. Uh, once again. Beating Orlando City has been exceedingly difficult for the Rowdies. Don't count on it.
Even so about the Iceland team they were still a pro side in which was not part of the original plan where they played no pro sides in the pre season matches.
Uh, once again. Beating Orlando City has been exceedingly difficult for the Rowdies. Don't count on it. Come on law of average says they gotta beat OC SOMETIME SOON !
If it was sheer dumb luck, than the probability of a win would be the same each time. In real life, yes it is hard to beat anyone back to back. The Rowdies have just proven to be the inferior side.
The World Cup minnows will not be joined by Alvaro Saborio in Brazil but will hope to put in a strong showing against Alberto Zaccheroni's men regardless http://www.goal.com/en-ng/match/costa-rica-vs-japan/1660446/preview
