Very likely a red though, right? I'm not sure he did that calculation in his head in the heat of battle, but at 1-1 near the end of regulation its a massive risk to take a professional foul when you're the last man.
for those who follow the Youth set ups- this is quite a loss to Villa who have a good youth program http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ctor-Bryan-Jones-announces-hs-retirement.html
Club-mate Samir Nasri recently said Toure would be celebrated as one of the world's best midfielders if he was not African. Hang on... I thought he was? What a knob!
Can someone confirm this. But I just saw on Twitter that an Atleti playeron loan at Elche isn't playing tonight because Elche won't pay €250k to Atleti. Are you fecking serious?
Well, that and, has anyone seen the guy track back to retrieve a ball after he's lost it? I mean, EVER? I can't see Jose being interested in the guy, tbh. Not his sort of player at ALL!
To be fair, that wasn't Eden's strong point either before Jose got here. Maybe he can be molded a little bit but, as Walter said, we are packed at the attacking midfielder position and the hassle, price, press etc. of getting him would not be worth it imo. If he was a world-class bonafide striker, then it would be a different story. Plus it would also help if he wasn't such a little wuss, as the Simpsons have shown:
Y'know, just watching the sperz/Fulham game and, watching it, you can see why sperz have never really cracked the top four. Aside from the quality of their players, they've just got too many fellas who, towards the end of the league campaign, think they're 'safe' so won't go the last mile to win games on the run-in. I think that's what Jose gives us... that determination to ensure ALL points are fought for. That there is no such thing as a 'meaningless game'. Edit: An example... Kabul, (the captain FFS ), is the last man yet dangles a leg at a man running through and the ball and man gets past him. Presumably because he doesn't want to get a 'boo-boo' on his 'lickel leggie'.
He just comes across as one of those fellas that will disappear in some big games and be unreliable. Rather reminds me of a fella called Stan Bowles who had great ball skills but was absolutely bone idle. I watched him play once for England back in the mid 70's... well, I say I watched him play... it wasn't until someone said to me about halfway through the second half, "Hang on... isn't Stan Bowles playing?", and we checked the team sheet, that we realised he WAS, in fact, on the pitch. I mean, Neymar's not that bad, and he's a FAR better player than Stan Bowles ever was... but he comes across as the same sort.
Fulham have put in a decent showing but they just lack a cutting edge. Also their defence is suspect. Did you SEE that bit of play by Hangeland in the 1st half where he had plenty of time to get rid of it but dawdled and lost possession. That led to the goal.
Devastating injury news for Aston Villa. Chris Foy has had to be subbed off in the Newcastle - Swansea match after getting smacked hard in the face with the ball. What a shame. I hope Jose has plenty of witnesses as to his current presence
