Does the US have a backup for Spencer? Also, Miazga will be needed for the bench for NYRB again, but they don't play until midweek so it should be fine.
Has Benji Lopez been playing as a wide attacker? I had been thinking of him as primarily a center forward.
Lopez sounds like a Villarreal type FW. If he can play on the wing unlike Jose it will bode well for him for more PT
I haven't seen enough of Spencer or Novakovich to have an opinion, but it's been a long while since we had a U20 pool with more than one interesting #9 in it. Probably, the last time was 2001.
Am I right in thinking that despite being named to the squad, Marky Delgado isn't actually there? Did ChivasUSA not release him? One would imagine that if he was with the squad, he'd have gotten into a game by now.
Yep, because of injuries Caleb hasn't really been part of the pool. But plenty of time yet. Yeah, Delgado wasn't released.
I think Vazquez needs a chance he's been playing good he looks really confident with the ball, and is a strong player. I heard the Mexican national team might call him for the u20 soon, i really want to see him wear the usa jersey again

U.S. Soccer YNT @ussoccer_ynt U.S. U-20 #MNT starters: Castano; Moore, Miazga, Amick, Requejo Jr, Palmer-Brown, Gooch (capt.), Gall, Rubin, Spencer, Pfeffer
Goal! Rubin scores on a counter, assist by Pfeffer. Shaq Moore had an important breakup to start the counter.
Absolutely awful 2nd yellow for the ref to give to Palmer-Brown, who just kinda kicked the ball away when the ref blew his whistle. His 1st yellow looked like a bad call as well.
