I thought it would be a good idea to have one thread with all the international matches that could affect the season with player call-ups.

Here's what we know so far:

    Denmark:

    4/10 vs. Switzerland
    5/8 vs. Serbia
    6/14 vs. Iceland
    6/19 vs. Israel
    8/21 vs. Iceland

    England:

    5/4 vs. Montenegro
    5/8 vs. Ukraine
    6/14 vs. Belarus
    6/19 vs. Ukraine
    8/3 vs. Sweden
    8/21 vs. Wales

    Germany:

    4/5 vs. Ireland
    4/10 vs. Slovenia
    5/8 vs. Slovakia
    6/18 vs. Canada

    Japan:

    5/8 vs. New Zealand

    Poland:

    4/5 vs. Scotland
    5/8 vs. Faroe Islands
    6/18 vs. B+H
    8/21 vs. Sweden

    Scotland:

    4/5 vs. Poland
    4/10 vs. B+H
    6/14 vs. Sweden
    6/19 vs. NI

    Spain:

Nice! Good idea. If you don't mind, I'm gonna rearrange the list so it's in chronological view, so people can get an idea of how many players may be missing on any given international window:

    4/5-4/10:
    USA
    Denmark
    Germany
    Poland
    Scotland
    Spain
    Wales

    5/4-5/8:
    USA
    Canada
    Denmark
    England
    Germany
    Japan
    NZ
    Poland
    Spain
    Wales

    5/14-5/25 (Asian Cup):
    Australia
    Japan

    6/14-6/19:
    USA
    Canada
    Denmark
    England
    Germany
    Poland
    Scotland
    Wales

    8/20-8/21:
    Denmark
    England
    Poland
    Wales

    8/?:
USA (two home games TBD, likely one in the 8/2-8/3 window and one in the 8/20-8/21 window)

We don't need to include NZ in the list, since our only Kiwi doesn't play for their NT anymore.

ETA: The list is missing the August 3rd friendly between England and Sweden.

Two things I take from this list:

    - Did not realize how many games Wales have scheduled during the season, almost as much as the USA.

    - The May 10 fixture between SEA/PTFC and all fixtures on 6/19 looks to be a complete washout in terms of NT players.

Either way, this is a good thread

    Yup! European WWCQ.

    In terms of # games:
    7 - USA
    6 - Wales, England
    5 - Denmark
In terms of # windows hit:
    5 - USA (guess)
4 - Denmark, England, Poland, Wales

She quit playing for the NT after not being selected for the Olympics.

As soon as someone gets a definite confirmation that one of the France games is in Chicago, please post.
I have to plan my summer schedule :).

Supposedly they're televising at least one of those two matches in Australia. Hopefully it pops up somewhere.
    That's a very intriguing Friendly.

Well she certainly has a different temperament than Sermanni which must have been a bit of an adjustment. She has also been trying to change the style of play.

If the availability of players for the NWSL was a factor, it was probably not a big one. The big deal seems to be the strict regime of de Reus. It sounds like she went too far with it.

WNY has 2 from Spain WNT plus Adriana, who is not in the mix right now, 2 from Australia WNT, and 2 from US WNT. I have not checked Australia WNT schedule, but here is my interpretation of the impact Spain and US WNTs may have on the WNY Flash.

    Spain WC Qualifying
Spain needs two wins and a tie in its 3 remaining games to guarantee first place in Group 2, assuming Italy wins all the rest of its games. Spain will play:
    Estonia 5/8/14 First game Spain W 6-0
    Romania 9/13/14 First game Spain W 1-0
Czech Republic 9/17/14 First game Spain W 3-2

WNY Games Probably Impacted by USWNT & Spain WNT
5/7 WNY home game vs. FCKC -
both US and Spain players called up.
    >>>>>5/7-5/8: UEFA WC Qualifiers- FIFA 4-5 day release period. FIFA 2 day release period for friendlies.
    >>>>>5/8: USA vs CANADA, Winnipeg.
    >>>>>5/8: Spain vs. Estonia WC Qualifier. Spain may play the B team, or at least leave either Vicky or Sonia behind. They already beat Estonia 6-0.

5/11 WNY home game vs. Sky Blue – probable tired players.
    >>>>>Both US and Spain players will have played on 5/8 and need to travel to Buffalo.

6/18 WNY home game vs. Red Stars – US players called up. Spain NT call-up?
    >>>>>6/14-6/19: UEFA WC Qualifiers - FIFA 4-5 day release period. FIFA 2 day release period for friendlies.
    >>>>>Spain and US have no WC qualifier games.
    >>>>>US has friendly games vs. France on 6/14 and 6/19.
    >>>>>Spain friendlies unknown.

6/22 WNY home game vs. Reign – probable tired players.
    >>>>>US will have played on 6/14 and 6/19 and need to travel to Buffalo.
    >>>>> Spain?

8/3 WNY game at Boston – could lose players for friendly NT matches.
    >>>>>8/2-8/3: FIFA 2-day release period for friendlies.
    >>>>>Spain and US friendly games unknown.

As of right now, Spain has nothing scheduled during the season other than the game on the 8th. I kind of hope it stays that way.

WNY should trade Samantha Kerr to Portland for Vero.
Kerr could join her Aussie friend Catley in Portland, and Vero gets to play with her Spain chicas in WNY.
Adriana, Losada, Bermuda Triangle, and Coke Vero.
That's a sick Spanish team in the league right there.

You're an idiot. If Vero wanted to play for WNY, she would have signed with them. And no way is Lines going to give up Kerr.

Quit posting your fantasy non-sense. For someone who acts like in the know, you don't know much. If Vero wanted to go to WNY she would be there. IMO, it was probably Portland all the way.

Another theory...if Vero wanted to play with Spanish players, she'd play in Spain not Sweden and the US.

Vero went to Portland, because they could pay her more than any other NWSL team. Plus the Paul Riley factor.
Portland pays more % of their player roster in the $6,000 salary range than WNY does or anyone else.
This opens up available salary to pay for high profile players.
And of course, the Thorns have used that freed up cap space so they could sign players like Angerer and Vero.
Just about all their other domestic non-allocated players had to take a pay cut. Nikki Marshall included.

But nearly all the rest of the top Spanish players are in NWSL right now.
Why would she want to play with 2nd tier Spanish players, when she could play with the 1st tier ones?
And it's not about what Vero wants to do. It's about what Vero should do.
If all the top Spanish players are on one team (including Vero), more Spanish Americans come out to the stadium.
But since Vero is their favorite player, and since she's not on that team, then many of them will stay away.

I wouldnt count on that...as the Spanish league winds down the best time for the NT to have friendlies is the summer.

Good news for Portland fans. Angerer confirmed on Twitter that she won't be on the Germany squad for their upcoming qualifier next month.
