Absolutely true, but sometimes the fault is simply wretched writing. The best editor in the world would have difficulty making that piece readable. Syntax is not something you pay when you buy beer and cigarettes. They had it better in the old days

it kills me to see so many spelling mistakes in the articles. can't give enough of a rat's ass to run a spellcheck?
Why run a spellcheck when many of your readers communicate without capitalization anymore, anyway? Do we expect something called beatsandrhymesfc.com to have access to a competent or any editor? URLs and internet access are cheaper than editors.
Journalism and/or ethics in the digital age is a challenging thing. If you're not on the internet with a website stealin' stuff, then you ain't doing it right.

many of the readers may communicate casually without capitalization, but i'll bet dollars to donuts that all business correspondence conducted by these same readers have a shiny capital letter at the top of each sentence. double or nothing we would notice a substantially reduced prevalence of general douchbaggery in these business correspondences compared to the casual correspondence where we see a plethora of "ZOMG!!!111!! you are the gay!!"
Absolutely. and visually and grammatically and language-wise, I'd expect something like beatsandrhymesfc.com to (sadly) look more like a BS forum than a NY Times or AP article.

Really enjoyed this for the nostalgia. Few comments - 1) surprisingly, the television crew is our local PBS station, 2) the Kingdome was such a monstrosity, 3) anyone who complains about the CLink turf should look at the Kingdome turf - I guess that's why the CLink turf really doesn't bother me, given I grew up watching games in the Kingdome, and 4) I really wish we had retro jerseys for our 40th anniversary.
