I don't think he had a knock because he's been playing regularly in Copa MX for Dorados and for Tijuana's u20 team. Exactly. It was an unlucky goal to begin with - it was a cross that took a nasty deflection into the goal. I will say this about Castillo - we know he has less than ideal physical tools for a defender but his effort on that end is deplorable at times. On one particular counter for Cruz Azul, he was nonchalantly trotting back rather than sprinting to catch up to his man. He did this on multiple occasions during the Ukraine friendly as well.
I agree, he has also done it on a lot of previous game with xolos. It's just less noticeable in xolos because there is always guemez or a cb covering for him on the counter when he is caught going forward. Based on halftime, the best yank has been corona. Arriola been invisible and i only notice him on the miss shot on attempt on goal. He look like he playing it safe just going for safe pass instead of doing what he does best and use his pace.
53'- Arriola subbed off Not a game that will get him more start. Invisible throughout the game, maybe you can blame it on that he hasn't played with the first team for awhile
Yes it was a lucky goal but the reason they were able to get a cross off is because Castillo got beat to the endline. Watch it again. The attacker runs by him then gets the cross off and deflects of a Tijuana player in.
Yeah he hasn't played well in the small amount of game time I've seen but he should be starting all CONCACAF Champions League games as a matter of principle. ...and now I sound like @ussoccer97531 talking about Paul Arriola, so I can feel his pain.
I know . But I wasn't talking about the WC. I just meant that Herc tends to do really well in the CL and I would have liked to see him play more games in it.

Paul Arriola talks about the ups and the downs of the current season as well as the US U-20 team Club Tijuana's Paul Arriola Is Making Some Big Strides
Paul Arriola almost reminds me of Mexico's Jesus Manuel Corona. I bet that Arriola is gonna have the same kind of impact when they are playing in qualifying.
I'm going old school with Dion of Dion & the Belmonts/"The Wanderer" fame: Paul Arriola: A San Diego native, Arriola was sought after by UCLA and LA Galaxy but he opted to play in Mexico, which has helped him with his already-strong technical abilities. He's naturally strong on the wings but Farias uses him a lot down the middle, which is the way this team seems to be taking shape under the Venezuelan coach. Good news: it will only help him when he's with the U.S. national team. Arriola is a player with the mental and physical discipline to embrace any position or style of play, and at 19-years-old, with plenty of room for growth, he's another who should warrant a look from Klinsmann's camp before 2018. He's already worn the captain's armband for the U.S. U-20's, and like Garza, he has a dominant presence on the field and commands attention and respect with his effort. He turned heads in Mexico when he scored on his debut almost a year ago to the day in San Diego in a friendly against Club America, and during his 2013 season with Xolos, he made an immediate impact almost every time he came on as a sub. Mexico has done him a lot of good and the experience will only be an asset to the USA. From Youth[/COLOR] Yanks Abroad (93s or later)
