I think Costa is a quality striker, but I'm not convinced he'll keep up this standard of level consistently. This season is Costa's absolute peak imo.

Atletico are fully aware Courtois is more valuable, and are probably looking at it with the view, Forlan & Aguero gone, we done the business. Falcao gone, business done.

Costa??? Is not better then any of those listed above, Atletico will replace him, without half as much hassle as they'd have replacing Courtois.

I don't think Chelsea will agree to any permanent move with Courtois, they don't have to. And the 35 mil depends on his buyout clause - it had previously been reported at that amount.
I do agree with you that Costa is unlikely to be better than he has been this season, but who else is out there?

I'm deeply saddened to learn that United has lost its patience and let David go. Thanks for the memories.

Poor Moyes... He really looked like he was on the verge of building something great at United. I only hope his successor is a man of similar vision, tenacity, and skill. The bar was set high by Moyes, always had been. :D

He was one of the few coaches that led a side that had Bayern on the ropes. Bayern had to reach deep down to prevail. :p

Moyes deserve a National team job preferably England or Argentina. The records he would break with those teams would be amazing.

    Good Luck Ribo_2006!!

And I may sound crazy by saying this but the game between Chelsea and Atletico Madrid is really a battle between Fernando Torres and Diego Costa!! Because both of them are fighting for that Spain striker spot!! And Del Bosque is in the stands watching.

Villa is my fave Spanish striker, hope to see an appearance in 2nd half.

Chelsea is in deep sh-t for the 2nd leg. And they have a strong Liverpool team to face on Sunday without Cech and Terry. I'm predicting a 2-1 win for Liverpool on Sunday and a 1-1 draw with A. Madrid next week! !

The Liverpool game is almost pointless now because of the Sunderland loss, and Mourinho is clearly hoping Hazard will be back next week. That will make a significant difference.

    two words.

    BORE FEST

Never seen a worse semi-finals ever. Ultimately Chelsea will be in the finals, Atletico looked meh in attack, so many crosses and long balls which is what Chelsea's defense kinda specializes in.

    Main card tomorrow.. can't wait!

I'm going with 2-1 Bayern both legs!! I wanted Chelsea to win, but I also wanted Diego Ribas to have a good game so he can squeak his way back into the Brazil team!!

That just means you're too young to remember the all Milan semi when Cuper was manager. That was miles worse. This Chelsea team can be really boring, but that Inter side made me want to claw my eyes out at times. Which was all the sadder because Cuper's Valencia teams were so fun to watch - the 2000 side that lost in the CL final was amazing - Piojo Lopez at his best, Gerard before the horrible injury, Mendieta, Kily.......errr, anyway - it could have been worse :D
