More on DF talking about LCY's underperformance this year: http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/spor...et_to_fly_again_for_Bolton_Wanderers/?ref=rss
interesting, i might be reading too much into it but i think he's resigned to losing LCY this summer.
Given their finances, I would think that DF would have liked to have gotten a good value previously. And is hoping that a WC will boost his resale because why would he care about how LCY does this summer.
perhaps he's a good guy & has a good relationship with LCY? anyways, LCY has 1 yr left on his contract & WC isn't going to drastically improve his transfer value.
I think the fixture congestion of the Championship might have something to do with fatigue... And I disagree a WC wouldn't improve his value. He hasn't performed on a world stage (whether internationals or EPL) since the injury. This is his chance to show everyone he still has it, and probably his last real chance to leave.
If he were sellable for a good price, he'd be gone now. That said, Bolton isn't broke (the debt is to the owner) and perhaps the owner has a soft spot for LCY or they believe they're selling near the bottom or they may have really over estimated their ability to get back in the PL. The championship isn't an ideal place for a player like LCY to show his stuff, and its compounded working with pretty poor cast of characters around him, a team floundering near the bottom of the Championship, etc. That said, there is still the very real risk that he's back in the championship come august as it sounds like he hasn't had a very good year
By transfer value, I was referring to the fee Bolton will be looking for him. Unless he has tremendous WC & Korea making a deep run... his value will be the same as start of this season (about 3 to 5 mil Bolton will be seeking for him). But yes, I do agree WC will increase clubs vying for his service compared to just 1 or 2. Anyways, the reason I suspect DF is resigned to losing him is due to his non-comments of LCY's return to Bolton after the WC & "motivated" to help Bolton promoted blah blah blah BS. Stuff managers normally say...

LCY started and played most before DF went to test youth. Seems to have done ok. http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/spor...olton_Wanderers_0_v_Leicester_City_1/?ref=mac Chung-Yong was become increasingly influential and the Korean weaved his way through two challenges to give Jutkiewicz a close-range chance he skewed just wide. http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/spor..._Bolton_Wanderers_0_1_Leicester_City/?ref=mac CHUNG-YONG LEE 7 Final ball still lacking – but plenty of creativity. http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/spor..._Bolton_Wanderers_0_1_Leicester_City/?ref=mac
