Thank you, that makes sense. Since the match was on a Thursday, I was wondering if the team won't leave for Canada until Monday May 5th.
Off topic, yet on topic. Donavan opens up in frank discussion about getting older and staying on top... I thought about Abby. http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1...insmann-affecting-landon-donovan-game?cc=5901
So if Tony Gustavsson becomes the head coach, how does that impact Sydney Leroux? Gustavsson will clearly choose Press over Leroux, plus there will be the Abby situation. Not to mention .... If Alex Morgan ever gets over her injury, then Leroux may be back to her old "3 minutes of Fame".
that's what coaches always do. I don't know a single coach that does differently. their jobs so easily hang in the balance that they can't afford to do anything else.
...and of course, it is a sort of favoritism. I mean, the nerve of that Bill Belichick, only playing Tom Brady all these years when so many other guys were waiting for a chance.
Not to jar reality and jump back on topic...but Van Hollebeke will likely miss Canada and Rampone is nursing an injury as well. They may actually have to add a CB to the pool. My personal preference would be to call in Johnston but I guess Dahlkemper is also a possibility.
I also think it's gonna be Dahlkemper. She's the only 2013 Hermann Throphy finalist yet to be call up and was playing good with U-23s in La Manga this year. The fact that she's from UCLA and Ellis is a coach right now doesn't hurt either. Johnston might be in similar situation to Tymrak and Brooks.
Who? Oh yeah, that's that one Baby Horse that came from a stork. I heard that story once. What a great fable it was. She was supposed to be really good at soccer. Too bad she was never real. It's been so long now that it's turned into an old legend. Someone needs to rewind that tape and tell her story again.
using lunatica's post in the spirit thread... ...mark parsons on keelin winters. minute 5:50. what do you guys think? she IS playing brian's spot weekly at the pro level.
I dont think Winters was ready last year when her chance came and maybe she gets another one under the new coach.
I give Winters all the credit in the world with Seattle, and I was one of the guys who dogged her for being in NT camps, but she still isn't international level quality, no matter the coach.
Not really. I predicted she'd be a 10 goal forward. If Sermanni had stayed, I think he turns her around for the NT because she wouldn't get stuck in 1v1 battles with bigger defenders, which was a highlight of Pia's offense. Now, Goebel is another story. She was timid when she had chance to attack Angerer unlike Little. I still believe the size difference benefited her game in Japan. 1 goal in 6 games. I've still got her borderline 5 goals in 24 games.
Disagree about Goebel. While scoring is the least developed part of her game she does everything else ud expect from a center forward. If she played on the NT she wouldnt score much, but the players around her would score more and wouldnt that be a pleasant change.
ok, 1 goal 1 asst in 6 games, so i got her on the books for 5 goals 5 asst in 24 games. she still didn't challenge angerer, who handled her easier than solo handled 18 yr old 1st cap raquel. how soon we forget how people were hyping her?
Im not saying Goebel shouldnt have done better...just that u shouldnt judge her game based on one muffed shot.
