A tough game but I'm going to wait for the injury report before pondering it too much.

The big thing the team needs to do when they play in these warm climates is keep possession of the ball and don't be trying to chase them all over the field cause in those conditions you wear out a lot faster,

Good news is Osorio is back. De Ro, Rey, Hall, Henry, Defoe are out. Bradley is day to day.

This squad is way too banged up so early on. Nelsen needs to re evaluate the training regiment. It's going to take the team longer to gel. FCD is really strong so far and with so many players out again a loss is most the likely result. I would let Bradley rest the majority of the game or miss it all if he is not 100% No sense in rushing him back when the rest of the team is injured and playing the top team in the league.

On the upside, we seem to be getting many of our games against the top clubs out of the way early this season, and despite the hits to our squad grabbing a few points along the way. Hopefully that means we'll have a good amount of the rest of the season against the lesser clubs with our top squad out there

Come on, we only really have two 'significant' players injured. We can't go about throwing in the towel and resting every other significant player every time that happens. If Bradley is fit to play, play him. You can't wait for the ideal conditions to win. You have to try to win each game. Defoe and DeRo are both out, which means we only have one fit striker. But we have our top three central midfielders fit, so I say play all three of them rather than stay married to the 4-4-2 with Weideman starting. We can play with Bekker and Bradley in CM, and Osorio behind Gilberto. Left wing is the other significant injury, but Issey will fill in there.
Alternatively, we could play Hall behind Bekker and Bradley to give them even more freedom to go forward and play Osorio on the left instead of Issey. But it seems that Nelsen no longer likes Hall in that defensive role, and I doubt that a point back midfield is in Nelsen's book of tactics.

Is Osorio actually playing up front or as a #10?

It wouldn't surprise me if Bendik starts.

Couldn't tell ya. Haven't seen anything suggesting it's a 4-5-1, but at the same time, it wouldn't surprise me.

You're in the right thread. The tfc vs fcd lineup is in the wrong thread.

I can't see us holding a clean sheet this game, giving a lot of space to Diaz in the middle but we are playing decent thus far and look dangerous on the counter

The referee shouldn't be booking Jackson. He should book himself.

We deserved to lose that game, that second half performance was very poor, we sat back and try to defend for 45 minutes. I understand you are going to have periods in the game where it is all hands on deck defending but with the players on the field we should expect some sort of ability to retain the ball and hold it for a period of time. First half we did a little bit of that but second half seem like 70-30 for FCD.

Also thought the ref was very poor, seems like these ref they brought back from strike are doing a worst job than the replacement ref we had the first couple weeks.

Yeah, there's some worrying signs. I thought overall this was the worst game we played. Even Bradley was not his usual self. Osorio? You wouldn't know he was on the field. Seriously. Did he touch the ball? Yes we got crap refereering, but we still deserved nothing out of this game. Lots of lazy passes, and silly back-heel give aways. Our sole strategy was boot the ball up high. A shame, because this comes off what I thought was our best performance, last week against Colorado. Anyway, let's take this two week break and see what comes of it.

Osorio was being played as a second striker, and he made some really good passes on the break in the first half, and in general was one of the better players on the ball. Him and Bradley are probably the only two on the team capable of making a pass into the run of another player while running. But he seemed to fade along with Bradley pretty soon. Clearly neither of them was all that close to match fitness.

So would the posters who said that TFC playing counter attack would win more games then lose like to take their opinion back?

Morrow still clueless as to what to do when he has the ball. Hell of a defender, great timing but when you just give the other team the ball back once you get it, it defeats the purpose. Jackson has so much pace but so little clue about how to use his team mates. Gilberto looks like a good player...but in this league he hasn't produced like one at all. Either the formations aren't suited to him or the fact that MLS plays a much stronger physical defence compared to Brazil (where I'm sorry if you watch the league it looks like they don't even bother with defending) either way he has a few games left to start doing something before we can add him to the list of Total Bust DP's we've had. JDG, Mista, make room.

.500 through 6 is what I expected (through 10 actually) but they better be getting better at possession from here out otherwise .500 will be a challenge for the rest of the season.
