I clicked on your spoiler and saw there were two lines of text but did not read any word before i closed it again.
I never got to finish The Malazan Book of the Fallen. Great and epic Fantasy series but very complex so I'd have to reread everything in order to properly enjoy the end. I never found the time...
Well, psychological research says that people who can delay gratification tend to be more successful in life. It was concluded in the famous Stanford marshmallow experiment where a child was given the choice to immediately take a small candy or have a bigger reward if he/she can delay the urge to have the candy for a week. This case might be apples and oranges but those who clicked on the spoiler definitely have some problems being focussed on a single goal, I'd assume.
It's a lot of fun if you like some light hearted multiplayer gaming with friends. My friends and I will play the Murder and Prop-Hunt mini games for hours on end. Actually ended up pulling an all-nighter on Monday night playing with my wife and our friends. Work was rough the next day.
Did anyone else catch the ESPN 30 for 30 documentary about Hillsborough last night? Really moving stuff... had to fight back tears on more than one occasion while watching that.
Those 30 for 30 docs are actually fantastic stuff. My favorite one is "The Two Escobars" about Pablo Escobar's influence on Colombia's WC 1994 squad. I will have to record the Hillborough doc and watch it. I know there was a lot of misinformation of what really happened.
Misinformation is a massive understatement. More like massive police/government cover-up of the actual cause of the disaster.
When I look at the English media and their bevy of shit rag papers such as the Sun, Daily Mail, pretty much all of them except maybe the Times, I feel a slight sense of pride that America still has a decent lineup of quality newspapers and that they are actually widely circulated and read by the general public. The English media just make me think poorly of their populace, but I'm sure I'm being really cynical and somewhat ignorant by saying this.
Here is a typical newspaper coverage: Miley Cyrus Gay Rights Kim Kardashian Gun Control C-list Celeb Sex Scandal of the Week Abortion Class Warfare Justin Bieber Whatever Sensational death topic of the month: "Dude, Where's the Plane?" Might as well use the newspaper to wipe my ass.
The only thing a newspaper is good for these days is to prevent ruining your floors when painting or staining some furniture.
