Mods, Since (finally) our injured player had a pretty solid shift today and will definitely continue to contribute in the final stretch, I suggest we close this transfer thread and open a new one!
And that should be it for the both of them. Great time to pick up one or two young studs to put in midfield.
Did you guys hear in the game yesterday when one of the announcers said the papers had linked us with Madzukic (as of yesterday)?
http://www.footballdirectnews.com/p...s-line-up-everton-goalkeeper.php#.U08UGVcvBYx I don't know the reliability of the site, but it certainly makes sense in the grand scheme of things.
sagna can't cross? dude's so underrated its ridiculous, would have double figure assists with a good striker.
Nah, even with Cavani, Crouch, and Van Nistelrooy in the box all the same time, his crossing is below par honestly.
Telegraph reporting Arsenal are offering Koscielny a new 90k p/wk contract, and also are meeting Sagna's demands. The shocking part is that Kos is still on a 50K/week salary.
Sagna's crossing has improved, but its still fairly hit and miss when compared to how Gibbs is going forward.
anyone follow how sebastian perez cardona has been doing? completely forgot about him until now. might make sense to bring him over now and send him on loan to another european team, if wenger's still interested.
I honestly think Kos is turning into the best defender Wenger's ever had. He reminds me of Vidic at the height of his powers (ignoring his penchant, up until recently of giving away penalties). He deserves 90k per week.
Sagna's not the best offensively, but that's not because of his crossing this season, which has been fantastic. I'm convinced that Sagna's offensive limitations are tactically by design - Sagna isn't supposed to go to the byline, nor is he supposed to run into the channels, and this is by instruction. I'm not a mind reader, so I don't know why Wenger has instructed this, but Sagna never goes around the back and never runs into the channel behind the fullback. Gibbs does those things, which is why he's a better attacker.
And while we're talking about defenders...and defensive traits...Sagna is a world-class LB. I'm glad we're meeitng his demands.
Koscielny has truly been amazing this season, one of Wenger's better signings. Hopefully he is going to stay for many years to come and don't chose money like Nasri and Clichy did. I'm not so sure about Per though.
Per and Kos are like PB&J. Without Per, Kos can be a bit of a headless chicken. Without Kos, Per has no one to mop up and provide the pace he lacks. They compensate perfectly for each others weaknesses.
I would really like Kondogbia, quick feet for a lanky dude, I think he'll be in demand when he plays in the CL next season.
