They did play a Reserve League game against NYRB and used Pineda, plus two academy 95s (Lillard, Lawal) and two academy 97s (Fernandez, M. Pineda)

Yep. And I believe Castano played for NYRB in that game.

Ended 1-1 with a crazy ending as a Meara double yellow led to injured? midfielder Ian Christianson playing in goal for RBNY. Then I think Christianson got injured and NYRB finished with 9 men as they had no further subs.

Jon Top with a gamewinner for AZ Utd tonight, getting onto the end of a knockdown header to score from close range. First win in team history.

LAG 2 played an appalling first half but appear to be headed to a 2-1 win.

Game winner created by a Sorto cross that found McBean at the back post. He headed across the goalmouth for Chandler Hoffman to finish. (McBean had started earlier games but was only a sub in this one.)

Make that a 3-1 final. McBean with his second assist on a stoppage time counterattack.

McLaughlin went 72 for Harrisburg against Dayton. And there was a Cruyff sighting for the Dutch Lions.

No Salazar for Pittsburgh against Richmond. The Kickers started Seaton but he came off early, presumably because of injury.

Slightly OT, Richmond started five DC United players, brought another in off the bench and had Robinson on the bench but DNP. And that's without Martin or any of the United reserve GKs...

Stevens is a '96 BTW. He's committed to Michigan.

Lema also came on in the second half. NYRB continues to give academy players considerable match time against USL teams. (Four appeared against the Battery; seven thread-eligible players have appeared for the club in USL competition so far this season, and Castano would have been the eighth. Plus, '97 Malcolm Dixon is the youngest American player to appear in the league this far.)

Rochester plays the Fire reserves today and OCFC plays the Dallas reserves tomorrow.

The Rhinos won 2-0. For the Fire (as Clint noted above):

    ChiFireMatch ‏@ChiFireMatch 4h
#cf97 starting XI: Kann; Ianni, Kinney, Franco, Gutman*; Ritter, Watson, Underwood*, Gonzales*; Gentile, Anangono.

Martin Alba came on after an hour. Myall on the bench but DNP.

FC Dallas has recalled Homegrown forward Jonathan Top (right, photo courtesy of Arizona United SC) from his loan with USL Pro's Arizona United SC for Tuesday's game against Orlando City. Top returns to Frisco fresh off scoring the game-winning goal for Arizona United on Saturday night to help the new club to it's first win as a franchise

In case you were wondering (these are the kinds of things I wonder about) Arizona doesn't play the Dallas reserves in the USL this season.

Apparently Cobi Span is playing AGAINST Dallas tonight with Orlando as opposed to playing with FCD.

IT would be more interesting to see what would happen if the clubs were face-to-face in a game that mattered like the USOC. Did FCD bother putting a clause in the loan deal saying Cobi couldn't play against FCD if they were to face each other in that competition? Probably not......................

Why can't Dallas leave Top alone to get consistent minutes. He's not going to get them in Dallas and even if they need him for back up, use someone else to sit the bench. They have been mismanaging him for 3 yrs now. Let him be.

For all we know Top will just head right back to Arizona United after Tuesday's game. Their next game is on Friday.

True, but why don't they say that. A Call up without mentioning context as to why or what the next step is just filling space on a screen. What are the details?

Meanwhile, Eriq Zavaleta lined up for Chivas USA's reserves against his real team's reserve yesterday. Unfortunately, he ended up going off with some kind of lower leg injury. (I couldn't quite make out what happened. Maybe Kenny Cooper came down on his right foot?)
