SIUE announces, both early commits stay even with Kalish leaving.....Keegan McHugh headlines this class. http://www.siuecougars.com/sports/m-soccer/2013-14/releases/20140409fz68mr
The Buffalo Bulls announce an almost exclusively international class. http://www.ubbulls.com/sports/msoc/2014-15/releases/20140414e5p1c1 And with that, the MAC joins the Pac-12 in having all it's men's soccer playing members announce recruits.
So this is weird, and might be a first. Temple hasn't put out a release actually announcing their recruits but they've now put out a release discussing a media report (if you can call CSN "media") that ranks and discusses their class. Why they could be bothered to put that release out but not an actual one on the recruits is a little baffling, but such is the mystery of college soccer coaches' apathy. That said, unorthodox and bare-minimum as it is, it is a recruiting announcement, so we count it. http://www.owlsports.com/news/2014/4/14/MSOC_0414145137.aspx
Denver, which didn't have any seniors on a team that won the Summit (easily) last year, announces an 8-person class with both local and national players that includes three from MLS academies and a grad-student transfer from Wake Forest. http://www.denverpioneers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=18600&ATCLID=209467837
UMBC announces two, one of them a Towson refugee who appears to have sat out the year to finish his undergrad and will go from one Baltimore suburb to the other as a grad student. http://www.umbcretrievers.com/sports/msoc/2013-14/releases/20140417r27wyx
Oregon State announces some more players, both on board now and arriving in the fall . . . http://www.osubeavers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=30800&ATCLID=209471888
Markey is an interesting one. He's a CB with a YNT and MLS academy pedigree who redshirted at UNC last year. But with Boyd Okwuonu and Jonathan Campbell, 3 and 2-year starters, returning next fall, he probably saw playing time was sparse. Ironically. he initially committed to Syracuse but changed to UNC late in the process and with 'Cuse now in the ACC, he'd have to sit out a year if he transferred within the conference. I wonder if he regrets reneging on his commitment to Syracuse. On paper, it's a good group but OSU usually looks better on paper than they perform on the field. At some point soon that's going to need to change for Steve Simmons or he may be looking elsewhere as there are likely a lot of people affiliated with the Timbers who'd be interested in that job.
... and Velazquez initially committed to Niagara (they announced him back in Feb). But even though the other three all have YNT backgrounds, I feel like Velasco may be the best get for them. Big, strong, skilled. If he'd stayed at Portland, he would probably have been in line for all-WCC recognition this fall.
On 2/5/ 2014 the University of New Mexico announced 8 recruits, four with ties to MLS academies. Three hail from Albuquerque, three from Texas, one from AZ and one from California. Matthew Dorsey, Houston Dynamo Academy, is rated 53 in TopDrawerSoccer's Top 150, Patrick Khouri, FC Dallas Academy, is rated 66. On 3/17 the Lobos added a ninth, GK Jason Beaulieu, from the Montreal Impact Academy system. http://www.golobos.com/ViewArticle....19&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=26000&ATCLID=209394367 Coach Fishbein makes it a priority to go after New Mexico talent. He's also had recent success going after under-the-radar players. So how will the Lobos fare in 2015? Fishbein says the Lobos will "reload not rebuild." And how have they fared this spring with four seniors (all drafted) gone? Spring play tells us little unless a team is really bad. The Lobos will be fine for 2015. Colorado Rapids Reserves 2 - New Mexico 0 New Mexico 3 - Denver 0 (DU beat Creighton the week before 2-1) New Mexico 1 - Air Force 0 New Mexico 6 - Fort Lewis College 1 (played 4/19/2014)
UC Riverside continues to be an oddball of a program, announcing an award won by one of its recruits without actually, you know, announcing who its recruits are. http://gohighlanders.com/news/2014/4/16/MSOC_0416145959.aspx?path=msoc Sac St adds a local kid http://www.hornetsports.com/sports/msoc/2013-14/releases/20131217ap07a0
It's also a terribly amateurish press release with, apparently no actual writing by anyone from the UCR SID. Instead they appear to have cut and pasted part of the story on the kid.... and then cut and pasted another part of it so that the same paragraph appears in the "release" twice. That release does nothing to quell the appearance of a coach and SID not giving a shit. RSL's academy sends players every where. It's pretty impressive, really.
Interesting model RSL has in that they can draw players from various areas where no MLS team is affiliated and have their rights. All done in the sunshine of Arizona. Interesting model, makes you think what if New York Red Bull set up shop in Florida some place?
Monmouth announces the class coming this fall: http://www.gomuhawks.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=209475496&DB_OEM_ID=14300
The addition of Alves makes three transfers who played at St John's, all of whom got significant minutes while there. (Sarle was obviously at UCSB for a while, too.)
Word on the street is that Masur has grown weary of Monmouth's position that this rash of transfers from St. John's to West Long Branch, NJ is coincidental and without interference. He's apparently having trouble reconciling that these guys are serendipitously falling into Monmouth's lap, somehow. Don't expect that transfer option to remain open to any more Red Storm players.
He ought to be worrying about what he's doing that's causing his players to keep leaving his program for a small school in a one-bid conference.

http://www.apacheathletics.com/article/1857.php This one is a reverse announcement, a Juco announcing who it's sending out. Thanks to the foreign player limit, Tyler JC is now sending a ton of US-raised players to high D1 schools.
Rutgers announces that it will spend countless hours playing Tetris. http://www.scarletknights.com/soccer-men/news/release.asp?prID=14865#.U2Uu06AiUxq Check that, "Tetros."
