I just can't wait until you guys get some consistent percussion going on over there. As a percussionist, some of it is just cringe-worthy... lol
"[Insert Opponent Here] we've got your number, We're gonna beat you down T-H-E C-R-E-W" Instead of, you know, Jenny and her 867-5309 number.
How about "Yellow" I hear that's a really great song and I bet we could all song it great if people would just try it.
I'd go for Not Fade Away by Buddy Holly, with a heavy leaning towards the Grateful Dead version(s). 1) Only two short verses (then the first repeated again). Easy to remember and easily adaptable to soccer. 2) With adaptation, makes sense for a supporter's group professing love for the team/city 3) Fairly well known song 4) Good guitar intro/solo, fairly rocking, easy to piece together. 5) Can put crowd "No our love will not fade away", clap, clap, clap, clap-clap chants on the front or back end of the song, or both. ---NFA + clap chant I'm gonna tell you how it's gonna be (we're?) Your gonna give your love to me (score some goals for me?) I'm gonna love you night and day (we're or your gonna score them night and day (home and away?) No our love will not fade away No our love will not fade away My (our) love is bigger than a Cadillac I tried to show you but you drive me back Your love for me has got to be real Your gonna know just how I (we) feel Love is real not fade away Not fade away repeat first verse --NFA + clap chant Second verse needs tweaking, but for off the top of my head, not too bad.
I heard a song the other day. Cello, I think. Maybe Mellow. Some Irish band called Cold Days. It seemed perfect.
Not an anthem but how about this... to the tune of "coming 'round the mountain" We'll be singing in Columbus when we score! We'll be singing in Columbus when we score (when we score) We'll be singing in Columbus We'll be singing in Columbus We'll be singing in Columbus when we score! We'll be singing in Nordecke when we score! (when we score) We'll be singing in Nordecke when we score! (when we score) We'll be singing in Nordecke We'll be singing in Nordecke We'll be singing in Nordecke when we score! Rinse Repeat as needed And remember kids this only works if you pronounce Nordecke correctly, Nor-Deck-uh not Nor-deck or *ugh* Nor-deck-y
Or NOOR-deck. *shudders* This song's potential to fail reminds me of St. Dunc's first time he was in the starting lineup. Announcer: "Duncan" Crowd: "Oww...*muffled noise.*"
