my sister and i ended up booking a hotel at Cerqueira Cesar district - we plan to be in sao paulo for 5 days, be nerds, visit museum, eat good food and of course see the semifinal. in south africa i booked pretty much all hostels, but booking hotels has been cheaper for us.

this is a guide i used to figure out which neighborhood to stay in:

Thanks for the info. I've booked flights from Rio to Belo Horizonte on the 7th and another flight from Belo Horizonte to Sao Paulo on the 9th - I'll leave the return flight open now as we'll decide whether to stay in SP for a night or head back to Rio.

Are you guys coming to Rio after SP semi?

most likely we will return to Rio - we haven't booked our international flight yet - but most likely we'll fly into Rio and leave from Rio - most likely going to leave Rio on July 15th.

we need to book our flights from Rio to SP and vice versa. Originally I wanted to take the bus back and forth, but our family has discouraged this

yeah I wouldn't be traveling by bus, I've heard things happen which is relatively unpleasant.

What other games are you attending? I'm praying we can get tickets to the FINAL, best hope is Brazil crash out :o

No accommodation booked as of yet. Yeah thats something we'll need to look into, seeing which neighborhood is good/safe etc.

We might head back to Rio after the game or stay for one night. Not sure what to do yet but we havent booked the return flight to Rio for Sao Paulo :p

i was curious are you planning to stay in Brazil for the final? Thats what my sister and I are planning to do, we thought we'd miraculously see final tickets show up again, but it looks like thats not going to happen after all.

we haven't booked our plane ticket yet (that is just how we roll) and now are trying to figure out if we should stick around for the final, or leave after the semi final in sao paulo.

Hey Nikkimau, definitely staying in Brazil/Rio for the FINAL and hoping to score tickets (If Brazil drop, I imagine the locals will be dumping tickets hard and fast).

Even if we don't get tickets, FIFA Fanfest should be an awesome environment and atmosphere, imagine it should be a party atmosphere I think.
