I was really into the first season but it ended so badly that I have no desire to go back. It may end up on my TV just because FOX is not showing the animation block.
The only really interesting thing was the small murder groups, which is what I expect murder groups to look like. But then the comic book twins showed up. I get why Hardy is on his own - they don't want to rehash the first season - but it doesn't make sense that he is faster to the facts than the FBI. And he's done nothing so far but wreck the FBI's case and his own cause.
The same FBI that brought him in to consult because the Carroll-ers have re-emerged? Maybe the FBI has been focusing elsewhere since they believe Joe is dead and his cult is no more; whereas Hardy is obviously still highly obsessed with Carroll and his cult, and hasn't stopped (silently) tracking things down. Now that the cult(s) have resurrected themselves, he'll be in over his head real quick.
They brought him in, but Hardy did nothing for them and then left. He then hunted down the guy the FBI identified, let him get away, let the cell know Hardy was after them, and blew the one lead the FBI had.
Intentionally. I guess I don't see what the problem is. He's getting crazy obsessed with the cult, and after all that went down last go-around, seems that he's content going lone wolf (more or less) on it.
The problem is that he is doing such a bad job of it. If he did nothing, the FBI would certainly have that guy, bust all three groups he has attachment to (the commenting women, the subway stabbers, the twins), and the season would be over by the second episode.
I have a feeling that the twins and the other 2 subways stabbers are the same ... probably not though. I don't think Fox wants a 2-episode season. But maybe that's just me. I think the point is that Ryan's letting his emotions get the best of him, and because of that is doing a poor job at tracking down these various cells of the cult. He's clearly obsessed with Joe Carroll, Claire and her death, etc.
Interesting so far. Spoilers: I wonder what Lily Gray is going to do about the whole Joe thing. After all, he betrayed her by leaving her and now her son is severly injured although she thinks he's dead. Maybe join the FBI perhaps? lol
Anyone still watching this? I stopped after this weeks episode. I can't take the sheer incompetence of the "good guys" and the indiscriminate killing that goes unpunished.
Was pretty shocked that Mike killed Lily… I didn't think he had it in him. He's changed so much this season.
