Last week's team with Welbeck and Januzaj on the flanks, Rafael in the back. Vidic should be back, given our issues with Jones/Evans, if they are still out. Fletcher//Carrick for me.
you'd bench mata? ddg / rafa - vidic - jones - evra / fletcher - fellaini / mata - rooney - kagawa / rvp i'm assuming that fellaini is back and that carrick, evans are out.
Why would Carrick be out? I don't recall him getting hurt against Stoke. If he needs rest, then that's fine, but I don't think he'd be out due to injury. As far as attack, I know Moyes wouldn't have the balls to do it but I'd bench Rooney, use Mata/Januzaj/Welbeck and either RvP or Rooney.
if fellaini is fit, he has to play. he needs a run of games to properly assess whether he'll make it here or not. can't just write off a 27m move. if he's still shocking by the end of the year, then you cut your losses. the worst position possible would be to enter the summer with fellaini "still needing time to adjust blablabla". i'd also give a lot of games to kagawa and nani whenever he comes back. there needs to be some sort of road map and a clear understanding of who is part of the plan.
opinions or preconceived notions are irrelevant at this point, the assessment has to be fact-based when you spend that much money on someone. we're not in title contention anyways, give him a run of games at DM and see what you got. discarding players without giving them significant minutes is not very sound.
which has absolutely no bearing on whether he should be given time now that he's actually signed. it's irrelevant that you don't think he should have been signed in the 1st place. i'm sorry for wasting my time.
------------------DDG Smalling -- Evans -- Jones* -- Buttner Valencia -- Cleverley -- Giggs -- Januzah ----------Welbeck----Rooney--------- We'll win ugly because, jeez, it's Fulham. *he's not the latest injured is he?
Signing Fellaini was stupid, but at this point that's a sunk cost. No one would even pay 2/3 of what we did for him. He has already shown gross incompetence in our midfield, but he had just got here and (without any evidence suggesting this) I hope that maybe training and whatnot has shown him the speed we play at here. His performances made him look utterly hopeless, and there's only so much speed you can add to a lumbering afro, but just hopefully he may become at least competent. Even getting to Anderson's level at this point would be an improvement for him.
Would be funny if Tunnicliffe or Cole somehow made an appearance and were able to make the difference for Fulham.
Why should we play shit players? Are they going to magically become decent or even good somehow? As for facts, it was established a long time ago that failaini sucks at football. That assessment is based on his performances for Everton. Being a decent battering ram does not make you a good footballer. Giving PT to players we know to be utter shite is not very sound either.
I call bullsh1t. it can't be a sunk cost if he is costing us on the field. i think he will be costing us for at least a long as moyes is here.
