You can order it now, and pick it up March 6th with the Cleats and Cocktails event. The interesting part is the mention of "first of it's kind" FC Dallas home uniform, does that mean it's not going to have hoops? http://www.fcdallas.com/blog/post/2014/01/28/pre-order-new-2014-home-jersey-presented-advocare-today
Can I buy the "unsponsored" version? Cause I might be willing to pay the 1/X amount of Advocare sponsorship dollars they'd be losing to NOT have that stinking company on my chest. Seriously. I will never buy an Advocare jersey. I just won't. Unless they pull the killer CRapids stunt and put STH names in the hoops. Then I might. But I sure as f won't wear it.
From 3rd degree - 3rd Degree @3rdDegreeNet @iamnotunusual I have not seen one, but its been described as "far more red than white" in terms of hoops thickness between red&white
Someday I will write up the story and post pics of the unused design sample jersey I own. It is blue/grey hoops...
I had purchased a few sample shirts at the Adidas outlet in Allen and sold them on ebay/possibly on here a few years ago, i'll try to dig up the pictures of them.
Here's the thread, pics are dead let me see if I can find them locally. https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads/sneak-peak-at-08-fcd-jerseys.592229/
The Facebook message said the photo is a clue, so yeah, probably still hoops, but very little white or even more of a red with a sublimated/textured different red for the hoops. I'm too fat for my old 2007 shirt, so maybe I'll consider this one once they're available in the pro-shop and I can beg the staff to grab me one before they heat press the Advocare logo. I can support a team that takes an MLM company as a sponsor, but my personal line is drawn at actually wearing said company's logo.
Isn't it a bit unusual for a soccer club to unveil its new uniform only 2 days before the new season? I would think FC Dallas would like more than a handful of fans to be wearing the new jersey to our first game on March 8th.
Yeah, but then how would they attract adults to their "Cocktails & Cleats" event? With alcohol and player appearances? Get real.
Last year the league had a "uniform week" where they showed off the new uniforms all week long, I haven't heard much on that front this year.
if we have the same old hoops with no solid 3rd/alternate kit, then it's more like "uniform WEAK" ***rimshot*** ROCK ME ***shotclock*** jk but i really will never buy a hooped shirt...thankfully FCD has a lot of good training apparel
So while I've been told "More red than white, thicker red hoops and thinner white" the image on the FCD site makes me wonder what's up.. look at the background of the pic below... that appears to be lots of thinner red and white hoops (compared to last season) with a 2nd and 3rd smaller sized red hoops alternating between them... From this it looks like more white than red, at least where there's hoops... Because in this pic, the sleeve, it's all red with the exception of the white adidas tri-stripe. Notice the lack of blue here. I'm guessing the back, sides and shoulder areas are going to be all red, and the front torso will be a white panel with this red line combination (see above) sublimated onto the white panel...
So I decided to make a guess. http://soccerblog.dallasnews.com/2014/01/a-guess-at-the-2014-fcd-home-jersey.html/
Update on this as FCD provides its own clue http://soccerblog.dallasnews.com/2014/02/more-clues-to-the-new-fcd-home-jersey.html/
My guess is the only white on the 2014 jersey will be the adidas stripes on the sleeves. Everything else will be one of two shades of red (basically Crooke86's design).
I think if we're ditching the hoops on the home, we might as well do something extreme for the away (like they do in Europe).
i agree and while seattle seems to have the monopoly (they can keep it) on neon highlighter alternates, maybe something like this blue minus the collar which i hate on any soccer jersey (ignore ex-player names)? i'd even be cool with the pinstripes being horizontal similar to the older NT shirts and i still love this one on the right....again, minus the collar props to whoever mocked up all of these
for 2014 the away kit stays the same... the plan is each year one or the other changes. until Dallas proves they can sell jerseys at a pace other clubs already do, a 3rd kit is very unlikely. going all red is a good start to accomplishing that.
Did those Dallas Burn shirts sell well? Whatever look they have when they win titles people will buy. Horizontal stripes never hurt sales of Flamengo or Celtic.
I know two things about Burn jerseys versus hoop'd FCD jerseys... I used to see Burn jerseys all over Dallas in places outside of soccer games. The ONLY place I see FCD jerseys are at FCD games. The other is I have been told multiple times that while Dallas has never been a "top seller" in MLS jersey sales, they fell to "near the bottom" with the intro of hoops. also, Celtic and Flamengo are historic teams with lengthy histories in soccer based countries that have soccer cultures.. You can't compare that to marketing a soccer brand in Dallas, Texas.
But is that because of the ugly hoops that making have big belly (that's not quite right; we haven't had that reference in a while and I forgot the exact wording!), or is it because of the relocation to Frisco and the out-of-sight-out-of-mind nature of the team for the more strictly Dallas-bound set?
