I really don't think the NTFCR part belongs in the title

Are they still conspiracy theories if a) the argos say they want it b) the city says they want it and c) MLSE says they are tyring to make it happen.

Kinda sounds like reality rather than a conspiracy theory.

Tim Lieweke with all 3 GM's on McCowans show talking about all things MLSE. Goes into possibly getting the Argo's and them moving into BMO. Easily the best thing that happened to Toronto Sports is Tim L. If one person can make CFL not destroy BMO field and instead play a part in making BMO Field better, it's him. He goes on to say that the Stadium may expand to hold a practice facility for the Raptors or be adjacent to it, not sure.

With all due respect for Tim L and what he has managed to do so far, he still has yet to prove himself.

I know what you are getting at, but for management not talking like defeated losers is a huge turn around.

Exactly - he's delivered on his big name players -we have a roster that is more complete than any previous year going into training camp.

I like the talk of what he wants to do for BMO Field and the Argos - so I'll temper my outlook on these changes to probable if not likely.

Likewise, I definitely see your point as well. In the short time he's been here he's defintiely reshaped the internal management mess and has put action behind his words. Still, even though things are looking very up, a cloud of cynicism will remain untilt he actual results come in.

I'm with polygong on this. Yes, he's brought in big names, turned the management around and delivered on promises. But TFC has still won as many mls cups under him as they did under Mo Johnson. So, I'm not ready to crown him the saviour of Toronto sports until the results are there.

After what happened to the Blue Jays last year, I'll also greet the season with a reserved level of optimism.

Admittedly, though, this shows much more promise than the Jay's rebuild did.

And d) the Blue Jays will be switching to grass in a few seasons so I doubt Rogers will want the Argos tearing it up.

I'm not talking about big names I am talking about being firm on the mentality of being winners. He is dead set on winning and having everyone believe we will be winners. Big names are great but TFC had teams, that with the right management and mentality, should have made the playoffs. Players like Jimmy B, Sam Cronin know what I am talking about as they pointed out in end of season interviews. When the top of your organization doesn't care about anything but making money the team on the field is doomed. Leafs and Raptors are 3rd in their respective conferences, no championships coming, but at least the teams are doing very well and believe they can beat anyone.

TFC won't win MLS next year, they aren't going to go unbeaten in their first 10 games but they will probably not be crumbling in the last 10 minutes of games like last year.

This is a very good point. The key difference so far is mentality. Under previous management regimes the song was always about how limited we are. We can't do this, we can't do that, things are really difficult, etc, etc. So far everything has been about what we can do, and then doing that. And I personally find that quite refreshing. For example, look at the issue of having four DPs. There's a good chance that they won't be able to hold onto Laba, but at least they're trying to find a way. Previous managements would have had him gone pretty much right away because finding a way to keep him wouldn't have crossed their minds.

Of course they haven't pulled it off yet, but at least they're trying. Other teams find creative ways to get the players they want under the cap, whereas we never have. It's nice that we're finally at least trying to do the same. We certainly have the financial weight to do it. We've just always lacked people with both the vision and the brains to do it.

Even the Leafs and Raptors have a winners mentality right now.

And the Leafs have converted it to performance on the ice. They aren't the league's elite but they are well into the playoff picture. Much like I expect to see from TFC this season.
