Don't think it was a sell out, Distinti Nord had a good amount of missing seats, I believe it was around 65k. Still great! The inno was AMAZING. If anyone can find me some awesome pictures of the Curva Sud at today's game, that would be awesome...I am looking for a new Facebook cover photo.
well, maybe the Roma allocation was a sellout. the distinti nord seats were maybe reserved for away fans?
Distinti Ospiti I think is the name reserved to the away fans, Distinti Nord is right next to the Curva Nord with the families sit together. Point is, 65k is an excellent number!
if we can pack our stadiums this full for a midday Coppa match, imagine what the turnout will be for the Sunday May match for Serie A giornata 37
For the first time this season Benatia had me worried at times, he looked less prepared than other games but he got it together in the second half. De Rossi would be my MOTM for tonight, perfect performance from him. He also drove forward quite a bit which is a big aspect of his game that I want to see more of. Not sure if it was because of Nainggolan's presence in midfield that made him comfortable doing this again but I want to see more of it. The fighting spirit from our midfield three tonight was something else. There was one moment between Strootman and Vidal in the corner at the Juve end and Vidal lay on top of the ball expecting Tagliavento to give Juve a free-kick and when he didn't Strootman did not give him an ounce of respect and just kept ploughing through him until he ended up literally on top of Vidal. The Florenzi off for Pjanic move puzzled me at the time as but to Garcia's credit it worked beautifully. The SkySports commentator said it as an obvious sub as Pjanic was an "out and out winger", that made me lol. The idiots at Sky.
It was a strange game. Juventus closed down the space very effectively, and nor Florenzi, neither Gervinho moved enough to give Totti a chance to pass. In the first half a lot of time all three were too close to each other, while no one went to help open up the space on the wings. On the other hand, we did pressure well, I think that was one of the reasons Naingollan started over Pjanic, to muscle up the midfield, but I think we lacked some balance. Personally, I think we could have Ljalic over Florenzi. The second half Juventus opened up more, which made our play easier. The goal reminds me of Totti's againts Udinese in the very last minute 2-3 years ago... Now we have to wait Juventus slipping in the league.
massive win, game meant little to rubentus...since 1990's they have won a coppa italia. but it did mean more to us... hopefully we get nazio next round, revenge for last year finals..
Same here. I think in big games you can see Mehdi's been a Romanista for ever, his grinta gets multiplied tenfold when we play team like Juve or Lazio like this... which is both good bad, good in that he destroys anyone in front of him, but bad in that he seems a little too nervous and prone to mistakes/over-aggressiveness out of his sheer willingness to win. Love the man! PS. Sucks we won't have Zampa for this, as it's not a Serie A game, so Mediaset (Zampa) doesn't broadcast it
