scott's agent: like i said, it's very simple. it's about $$. not sure she's world xi caliber, but she's very good, they've been lowballing her, and she has a right to go where the money is. nwsl has to lift the salary cap without blowing up the league.
Except that lifting the salary cap means nothing to allocated players like Scott, though I agree in general that $250k-$300k would be MUCH better than the current $200k.
I don't think the money is that great in the FA WSL, we are talking around 20 to 30k£ a year ie 30 to 50k USD for a year. Put it this way, the rent for my room is around 5 k£ a year.
Well, according to Scott's agent, the CSA was paying their allocated players 40-60% of what the American allocated players were earning, which was quoted elsewhere as being roughly $30k; even if money if the FAWSL isn't great, 15k£ from a FAWSL team is certainly more than $15k from CSA allocation money.
By the way, apparently Nkem Ezurike and Danica Wu are in camp in Vancouver ahead of the U.S. game. So if they make the roster do you suppose they might take allocation spots, if Sesselmann and Scott give up theirs?

I don't how committed she is to soccer since UCLA had to talk her on to the team in 2013 but you win when she is on the field. He has right back problems and she fixes either side like Dunn but bigger and faster.
No Courtnall in Vancouver it seems. Also haven't heard about Stewart or Quon. Belanger, Filigno and Lang are apparently there.

I dunno if she would. She's fast for soccer, but unless she improves, she's not going to be setting any track records. According to UCLA, her best 400m time is 53.94. That might get her to the Olympics for Canada. But it wouldn't have gotten her into the Semi-Finals at the last Olympics. According to Business Insider, "only half [of] US track and field athletes ranked in the top ten in the nation make more than $15,000 a year from the sport. Many in more obscure sports are lucky to make any money at all" (and Canadians probably make less). Whereas in soccer, she has a chance to be the face of Canada in the future if marketed properly. So sponsorships plus her NT contract would probably net her more than being a top 10 track runner. And who knows, if she has a great senior year, you might see her get a call-up for the US...
I didn't say World Class, said, 2nd team AA relay, not individual. She isn't even faster than the two runners on Oregon's A and B teams. As far as soccer, she'd be World Class. Dunn, Rampone and Thomis don't motor like her. Good size at 5'7". She'll stop DeVanna and Morgan/Sydney types for Canada which they are currently a complete failure at RB. Nothing technical there, just run when they take off. From what I've read, she wants to play for Canada because her dad played for the national hockey team. If she switched gears, was motivated (that seems to be with word with her when it comes to soccer) and showed up at FC USWNT, she and Dunn would be a sick combo for the next years. There's nothing in their camps equal to her after Dunn long term.

I didn't see that article. There's one she said Canada exclusively. If this is the case, Sermanni has dead brain cells. If his RB and LB are just as good or better than his forward, then he can drink his coffee and say, he has NFL quality corner backs instead of predatory strikers every time a mic is placed in his face.
She said that four years ago. She's been ignored by both countries since. I'd like to know what she thinks now.
I don't know how Canada can afford to pass up having a look at any talent. Down in their U17 program they have Jamaican players participating in training because they have dual citizenship.
Closing four seconds on your 400 is like taking a half-minute off your mile. She can flip afterwards anyway. And I don't think it's in anyone's best interests to deal with people like that. Why? Because they're 35 million people? They did ok taking a country 10 times that size to the wire in London. If anyone needs to improve their talent recognition...
Living past glories does nothing for the future. What have Canada done lately and many in Canada see rough times ahead. Heardman himself has said there is a dearth of age20 + talent. The production line is broken in Canada. The Americans have the organization and will power to improve while Europe has history and culture in the game. Canada has very little of anything.
Who see's rough times ahead? I read a lot more of the opposite. Surely not the U17 Canadian team going to the World Cup while the Americans watch on television. The U17 and U20 teams have almost as good results in CONCACAF as the Americans with organization and will power. What has Canada done lately? Had the big picture and played young kids, and the pipeline looks pretty darn good. There's more youth around the program since the U19 in 2002 that sparked the whole thing off.
The Canadian U17 team can thank Haiti for their tie with Mexico 1 - 1 in group play which meant Canada played Jamaica in the semi-finals. Meanwhile the US and Canada lost to Mexico. Canada was okay but not as good as the US or Mexico. The WNT is nothing without Sinclair and their performance at the OG was the Sinclair show. A bronze medal against a far superior French side. Their recent performance in Brazil was less than stellar.
