if they are putting it in Lot B, it sounds like Turf and not grass to me.

It is investment in the team, which is positive, but it seems more like a temporary fix.

That's what this Lot B field sounds like to me, a bandaid to get the players out of the public park setting and close to the stadium and supposed future adjacent training grounds.

Everybody jumps to conclusions. Where did he say grass or turf? Street soccer and no slide tackles.

Well, this is great news to hear. Maybe the FO was paying attention to MacMath and Soumare. ;)

Last I heard a permanent facility was planned for the south side of power plant building. Multiple fields, indoor field, and a small set of stands. The current discussion sounds like a temporary solution.

I just don't see them spending MILLIONS of dollars on a temporary practice facility. If they were doing to do turf why wouldn't they just send the team to YSC?

Where they put this thing, IF it is just a field for now will have to be the final home of the practice facility and they will just build it up around the field over time. I asked nicky about this yesterday and he was a dismissive asshole and walked away as he was answering me. But he said "well for right now you can't really complain about them practicing at a great stadium like we have right?"

From what I was told, the one field will be put in lot B and a training complex is being planned in another part of Chester with a local medical facility as a sponsor for it. Sort of a Union version of the Novacare Complex.

The comment about continuing to practice in the stadium sounds like a calculated diversion from the public park controversy. It implies that's the only place they train without actually saying it. On the other hand reporters aren't always great at exact quotes, and it's unlikely he would have mentioned Chester Park without a direct question. Of course this is the same guy who mentioned, while wandering through the supporters during a break between draft rounds, that MacMath was definitely still the starter, that the league had never tried to block the Edu deal, and that people who report on the team are generally confused and uninformed and we should demand better reporting.

I don't know if this is true but it would make a lot of sense. It is not necessary that the primary practice field and other parts of the training complex be co-located (although relatively close would be helpful). Putting the practice field beside the stadium and the rest of the training complex (weights/fitness/PT/etc) at Crozier would probably be workable. Of course, that means it probably won't happen.

We just need to find properties in Chester that are owned by Buccini/Pollin, because Keystone Sports & Entertainment are not going to drop any money on land acquisition when partial owners can just "hand over" the deed.

Being able to train in the proverbial shadow of PPL Park would be ideal. But Sak takes us all for fools if he thinks we believe the ONLY place they train is on the stadium grounds, when it's pretty much common knowledge now that they practice on public property.
