Might as well put this here also..................... An interesting defection from Canada's U17s. I believe he actually played against us when the US U17s played a two game set with Canada's U17s not long ago. USAprospects @USAprospects 10h US U17 Residency have also added Raheem Taylor Parkes. @RaheemTaylorPar spent time with Toronto FC Academy last Fall #usynt Raheemovic @RaheemTaylorPar 16h Very happy to start my first semester at US soccer Residency Program today! #USMNT
Considering that Taylor Parkes had been playing with US teams for years before that, does that make him an undefection?
A double secret defection. For the Canadians, this has to sting. He switched after choosing Toronto's academy and playing against the U.S. twice in November. Such is modern soccer I suppose... http://www.ussoccer.com/news/u-17-mnt/2013/11/131118-u17s-sweep-can.aspx (Surely losing those two matches by a combined score of 5-0, then having the U.S. win the Nike Friendlies, can't have made any impression on the young man...)
Similar players as both are extremely technical and creative. I think they are relatively close off the field as well.

1. FCK inked C. Albelo to a three year contract. No Bradenton, it looks like the 98's and 99's are rewriting and changing the culture. Perez, Barbir, Gallardo,Gallardo, De la Torre and more to come.
It's certainly possible, or it could just be this cycle has a larger group of players than normal with access to an EU passport or Mexican citizenship. But no doubt it's awesome to see this amount of players already in some big youth setups.
Considering he's already trained with the u-19 squad a couple times... Could be a deal starting as an academy player and finishing as a professional contract. Anybody have any idea about how much he's making since he's signing for a good amount of time ...
To be clear, are you guessing or do you know this? Academy players train with their respective first teams all the time around the world (including in MLS). That doesn't mean they're not still full amateurs, and most of them will probably never get pro deals.
J.R. Eskilson @JREskilson 3h The U.S. U17 MNT leaves for Turkey tomorrow to take part in the Aegean Cup. U17s play France (1/20), Norway (1/21), and Scotland (1/23).
No roster on the U.S. Soccer site. Here's France's: http://www.fff.fr/equipes-de-france/12/u16/derniere-selection It includes Maxime Pelican, whose mouth can hold more than his belly can.
Albelo I believe has military parents stationed in Germany. Nobody is really sure on Perez, a family member must have moved out there with him.
98' @basic_dee9912m glory to god, leaving to turkey tomorrow. #usmnt #thankstogod pic.twitter.com/w9bpMBURjJ
Just speculating considering the situation.. He's still 15 and has trained with the u-19 team multiple times
It's also pretty impressive the Lara made the roster. Especially considering the fact that he's a September 99 amongst a group of early 98s.
Anybody know where the Europeans are on this trip? ..... Assuming there all in preseason camp except for de la torre....
LOL - rewriting and changing the culture? I know one of the "top kids" and trust me, he's the kind of kid you want to keep yours away from. A "beast" on the field, whether practice with his teammates or against opponents. Hope Bradenton teaches him manners. Wondering if playing up, like U20 or U23, is better than sticking to residency programs. How much do they play against older players?
