Lots of back and forth on twitter on this one -

    Taylor Twellman @TaylorTwellman
Ready for a blockbuster? I'm hearing @torontoFC on the verge of signing Michael Bradley. Would be a huge coup for @MLS and @torontoFC #USMNT

    Alexi Lalas @AlexiLalas
Just confirmed with a source, M. Bradley move to @torontoFC that @TaylorTwellman reported is for real.

    Soccer Italia @MLSsocceritalia
I confirm from Rome that M. #Bradley is leaving @OfficialASRoma. Cost about €7mn, deal still not done | via @fsopengate socceritalia.it

Looks like USMNT fans will have to watch more MLS now to see the top guys.

I assume Bradley will be a DP then?

Seltzer is saying that there's fire to go with this smoke.

I have to say that I don't for a second understand why Michael Bradley would consider this. Doesn't mean it won't happen, just that I'd find it gobsmacking.

EDIT: I suppose that TFC could offer him an unbelievable shitload of money. That would make most people consider it. But returning to MLS doesn't make much sense. Going to TFC makes even less.

Considering he's really good and it's TFC, he'll probably get $10M/yr

Because he has always been gross underpaid. He gets paid EUR 800k a year in Roma, which is sort of a joke these days.

Would love this particularly because the country > club fans will go into cardiac arrest yet again. Always an enjoyable sight.

I was asking if he was gonna be a DP cause DC is #1 in allocation followed by Seattle being #2. Unless both DC and Seattle are passing i don't see how TFC gets him with out him being a DP.

He's a new(ish) father. His career won't last forever. He sees Dempsey making a move based mostly on money. If the Roma salary listed above is correct, it's a scandal. I get it.

I agree with this. I love MLS and don't really care about European leagues, but this really goes against everything I thought I knew about Bradley. Roma could very easily be in Champions League next year, and Pjanic could be gone.

Also, crazy that we were just hearing about how no MLS teams would put the money into signing Jermaine Jones because he plays dmid. Now TFC is going to go large for Bradley?

It's totally possible he has family concerns that would push him stateside, too...I just thought playing in Italy was Bradley's ultimate dream.

You're making $1,000,000 (800,000 euro) a year, TFC offers say 4 or 5 million plus a year? Welcome to Toronto.

    1. Bradley is a central midfielder, not a DM.
    2. Bradley is aLOT younger.
    3. TFC is the franchise that once upon a time alloted 2 of their 3 DP slots to de Guzman and Frings, a pair of DMs. I wouldn't put anything past them.

Nice to see other teams taking advance of the DP bypassing allocation order. Oh man eastern conference will so look different with the moves TFC is making.

wow, this is kind of exciting

Isn't this is what people wanted from MLS years and years ago? For clubs to shell out the dough for the elite US players?

    Well, welcome to the future.

Bradley will help ease the defensive pressure the back line always end up having to deal with.

That's after taxes. That's how it's reported in Italy.
